Howard Dean Come Clean
Howard Dean has not admitted that the Iraq war is illegal, he has not
admitted that U.S. foreign polices before Bush were corrupt.
People need to take a closer look at the fact that Dean is intent on continuing
the corrupt foreign polices. I was at the rally in NYC on Tuesday August
26 . I passed out hundreds of flyers at the Dean rally:
Howard Dean Come Clean! Bush does not deserve praise! "The President
(Bush) deserves praise for rallying the spirits of our people after September
11 and for some of the measures he and others in his Administration have
taken since. I know they are sincere, and that they want what is best for
our country and the world. "-Howard Dean 2/17/03
Bush lied to
America about why we were attacked, he doesn't deserve praise for God
sakes! Dean intends on continuing the corrupt foreign policies
that serve the same special interests that Bush serves. The same special
interests that Bush lied to American for. Dean and his supporters must ask
themselves, do they want a James Buchanan legacy or an Abraham Lincoln legacy?
(Remember even Lincoln had to be pressured to change the current policies
of slavery)
We must pressure Dean to come clean about U.S. foreign policy makers who
have been corrupt, violating basic American principles.
We forget now that Lincoln was going to allow slavery to continue. Yet he
changed and he foresaw our time where special interests are enthroned in
this era of corruption. "I see in the near future a crisis approaching
that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country.
. . . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high
places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to
prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all
wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."--
U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, 11/ 21/1864 Dean must take a stand to end
the injustices that U.S. foreign policy makers inflict upon the Middle East.

We can't support Dean until he admits all of the corruption that Bush is
guilty of. Bush
lied about why we were attacked!
Look into what Dean is really saying:
- Dean has declared his opposition to a pullout of U.S. troops from Iraq -- as though what the Pentagon is doing there now doesn't amount to continuation of the war he opposed. "We cannot permit ourselves to lose the peace in Iraq," Dean was saying in August. "We cannot withdraw from Iraq." But given the illegitimacy of the war on Iraq, what legitimate right does the U.S. government have to keep military control of Iraq? And isn't verbiage about not wanting to "lose the peace" a classic rhetorical way to rationalize continuation of war by the conquering army?
Look at the fact that Dean has not admitted that the war is illegal!
"We have no choice. It's a matter of national security. If we leave and we don't get a democracy in Iraq, the result is very significant danger to the United States." -Dean
We must demand that Dean admit that the U.S. polciy makers don't intend on allowing democracy in Iraq. Look at the fact that an oil pipeline is planned for Israel! Look at the fact that a deal for thousands of pay phones has been given to an Israeli company!
- Dean has gone out of his way to distance himself from a straightforward cut-the-military-budget position that should be integral to any progressive candidacy. At a forum this summer, another presidential candidate, Rep. Dennis Kucinich, said that "the only way we're really going to close the (digital) divide in this country is to start cutting the Pentagon budget and put that money into education." Dean's response was notable: "I don't agree with Dennis about cutting the Pentagon budget when we're in the middle of a difficulty with terror attacks."
