I was born
in 1954 in Welch, Oklahoma. I had and still have the privilege of
having two very wonderful parents named Lloyd and Dorothy Carder.
I was raised on a farm northeast of Welch, Oklahoma, not too far
from the Maybelle Baptist Church where Dad served as pastor for
several years. I have been singing Gospel Music publicly since
1970. This is really no surprise as Dad pastored small country
churches all my life so church music came naturally from church
and listening as Mom sang the old Hymns while doing
house work. Something else I would like to share of the meaning
of Christian Music to our family is that I can remember Dad
coming in from working at B.F. Goodrich Tire Plant in Miami,
Oklahoma, his hands calloused and sore from many twelve hour days
and, for nineteen years, nights that he worked to provide for his
family, so tired and worn out, but yet still he had a song in his
heart and from his lips for The Lord. I wrote "My Graduation
Day" in 1988 but didn't publish or record it until
1996. After I finally decided to do something with the first
song, God gave me another ten songs that year. I enjoy listening
to all kinds of music, but Southern Gospel is my favorite
I graduated from Welch High School in 1972. Then I attended NEO
A&M College, Miami, Oklahoma and earned an Associate of Arts
Degree in Vocal Music. I also studied music and science at
Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, then persued
Medical Technology at NEO and Missouri Southern. Later, in 1977,
I became a Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic
In 1973, I married Charlotte Lawson. We are currently living in
Miami, Oklahoma. From this union, we have two wonderful
children, a son, Kevin, born in 1975, and a daughter,
Chauntelle, born in 1977. Both of our children are married and
have blessed us with some wonderful grandchildren. Children truly
are a heritage of The Lord.
As for what I am currently doing, I am, of course, involved in
the Christian Music Ministry. I travel around the 4-state area
singing in the Gospel Quartet "Wings Of Love". I also
have been working, for over 20 years, as a Laboratory
Technologist for Miami Physician's Clinic of Miami, Oklahoma. I
also am a licensed VCR repairman. I also am a photo processing
lab assistant for Shoot N Scoot Photography of Miami.
I hope to continue serving
The Lord here for many, many more years to come. I know I will
for eternity in Heaven. Will you be there too? I hope so! If you
