Brands Hatch: 28th July 2000
Ahh Brands Hatch, home of the world supers!
This was a freebe, believe it or not. As long as you were using Dunlop D207 tyres on ya bike, then you had a good chance of getting this free track morning.
Makes it even more sweet when you consider that I won my tyres with a '
Star Letter' in Superbike magazine, Thanks boys!
This track is very twisty and very up and down, the first time that I went down Paddock Hill my stomach ended up in my mouth. As the bike gets to the bottom of the hill, the suspension is compressed and it kinda feels like someone is pushing you down on to the bike. It takes a bit of getting used to and is very unerving!
My favourite part of the track has to be belting round Druids, before getting on the gas for Graham Hill, hard on the brakes here and then squeeze as much power as you can to get up the hill to clearways. Brands Hatch is a very physical track and you really have to work the bike to get it round fast.......
Druids again: this is the blast towards Graham Hill bend, then brake hard as ya like & tip it in!
Coopers straight: "I intend to turn left?", I know my highway code matey!!
Clark Curve: Oooo! this is blinding! Drag the knee all the way around, until the power out .........
Druids Hairpin: Lovely knee down action, while setting you up nicely for Graham Hill Bend.
