I suppose by this time you've had enough of my soapbox ramblings, so now is the time to tell you about myself. My name is David Myrick. I turned 42 in the year 2001. Texas is the state of my birth, as well as the state of my residence. I consider myself a true blue Texan, tall and proud. I'm a Scorpio, and as my daughter reminds me, I possess all the traits common to Scorpio men. A picture is worth a thousand words, so take a look. I've been married once, and divorced once, and I have three wonderful children, Marie, Natalie and Justin, from that union. A man couldn't ask for a better family! They are a joy, and I'm proud of them all. I've devoted the majority of my adult life to raising my kids. BTW, I've been a single parent for over 13 years. My kids have kept me young and vibrant. I owe them a debt of gratitude I'll never be able to repay. Watching them grow up and mature is something I'll always treasure. Parenthood is not an easy job, seeing that children aren't born with owners manuals! Having said that, I feel proud of the job I've done (and are still doing) with them. One of these days I'll have the time to focus on myself. Now only Justin lives with me. Can you imagine? Two bachelors living in the same house. I will not post photos of the inside of my house on the Internet! I live in a small town just north of Houston. It's cozy, with few problems. We have a lago grande (big lake) really close, so weekends can be spent in a nice way. The town is growing larger every month, and one day I expect Houston to annex us! Doesn't matter to me if it happens, I'll be living in Alaska by then. Alaska, you ask? Sure! It's the last bastion of wilderness in the US. The scenery is a knock-out and the hunting opportunities are endless. I can build my own house, hunt for my food, well...you get the picture. I'm a mountain man in disguise, just ask anyone who knows me. I'm a proud, born-and-bred Texan, but I want to die in Alaska. For the past 5 years, I've worked for an engineering firm in the petroleum industry. Check out our website. I'm the Product Manager. It's a great job and I work with wonderfully talented people. Prior to my current job, I worked as a professional auto mechanic. I'm an ASE Master certified technician, with 27 years experience. Quite a change of careers, huh? I miss working on cars, but I don't miss the greasy fingernails. Being an auto mechanic brings you immediate gratification (for a job well done), but in my current job it takes months before you realize the fruits of your labor. It's hard to judge your successes when there is a long time span from initiation to completion of a task. FYI: I have meet one woman, since my divorce, that I would even consider getting married to. Her name is Lisa...what a wonderful name. Opps, sorry...I digress. Anyway, she has 3 kids (like me at the time) and we didn't want to start the Brady Bunch thing. Maybe in the future things will be different. Sign Guestbook View Guestbook |
