And the throbbing pain in my heart
is a song that plays on and on,
a haunting chant echoing in my mind.
Like crows perched on their posts
wings flappping, swinging in the air
voices ringing across the field
cries of despair slicing through the night...
I want to share this with you
so I won't be alone
in crooning with the crows,
in singing this rhythm of sorrow--
the beat of my heart.
