Derek's 1997 Jeep XJ

My 1997 XJ did not have very many options when I bought it. The factory options include AC, power mirrors, cruise control, and a stereo/cassette player. Since then, I have upgraded the following components:

• Front tow hooks
• Rear receiver with tow hook
• Engine/tranny skid plate
• Transfer case skid plate
• All J Products Boulder Bars.
• Rubicon Express 4.5" Lift with RE 6 leaf rear spring packs. 2" spacers in front along with rear springs net 5-6" total lift.
• Tom Wood Custom CV driveshaft and Advanced Adapter SYE package.
• Custom front bumper and rear bumper with tire carrier.
• 4.10 ratio gears for the differentials
• 32x11.50R-15 Goodyear MT/R's mounted on American Racing AR767's rims.
• Modified CJ flares for the front fenders.
• Safari Snorkel for those really deep mud holes.
• Powertrax No Slip for the Chrysler 8.25" 29 spline rear differential.
• Powertrax Lock Right for the Dana 30 front axle.
• Warn XD9000 winch.
• Spare axle for the Chrysler 8.25" 29 spline rear differential from Randy's Ring and Pinion.
• Tera Low 4 to 1 low range transfer case conversion for the NV231.
• Tera Low 2 Low transfer case conversion for the NV231.
• Roll Cage to protect my XJ from further damage, especially to save the windows and rain gutters!
• Tow bar so I can flat tow my XJ until I have the space to store a trailer.

As with most XJ owners, the modifications completed to date are only the start. My immediate plans for the next evolution of modifications include:

• 35x12.50 MT's (don't know which brand yet).
• Rear disc brake conversion.
• Trailer of my own to tow the XJ (when I get my own house and have the room to park the trailer.)
