The executive branch refers to the president and vice president. It also refers, by extension, to the president's cabinet, the Executive Office of the President, and the enitre bureaucracy. The Constitution provides only for the president and vice president, making it the smallest of the three branches of government. But including the cabinet, the EOP, and the bureaucracy, it becomes by far the largest. Visit the Executive Branch Structure page to find out what exactly is lined out in the Constitution for the executive branch. Visit the Executive Branch Buildings page to see pictures of the White House, and other buildings in which the executive branch functions. |
