Former Athens, New York Police Chief Robert Di Prima alleges Columbia County Judge Paul Czajkas secretary forged DiPrimas signature on a duplicate gun permit, which apparently Chief DiPrima was not supposed to have at the time. In a subsequent hearing in front of Judge Czajka, DiPrima claims that Czajka held the allegedly forged instrument up in the air and repeatedly asked DiPrima if he signed it. Chief DiPrima states he denied, several times, that he signed the document. Court transcripts were allegedly altered to remove this line of questioning and responses.
Chief DiPrima claims he filed a criminal complaint with the Columbia County Sheriffs Dept. regarding the alleged forgery, but was apparently informed by Undersheriff Doersh that Czajkas secretary inadvertently signed his signature. Priceless.
Chief DiPrima also alleges he got into a car accident in Greene County with the Honorable Judge Paul Czajka, that Czajka rear ended him and left the scene of the accident. DiPrima claims he filed a police report in Greene County, and that Judge Czajka brought in Columbia County BCI to investigate the accident, resulting in DiPrimas arrest. The charges against DiPrima were later dismissed by a grand jury.
