SYNOPSIS

The King’s Royal Rifle Corps is a Motorised Greenjacket unit, specialising in fast movement, scouting, supporting armoured attacks and also fighting in dense terrain. We also hope to be conducting some rapid strikes independently. The unit is especially suitable for the WWIIOL game in that it was, as a motor battalion, required to work very independently. In WWIIOL, we will be fighting on platoon and company levels rather than the huge scale of the real thing.

We have unofficial alliances with many other allied units, including the Allied High Command, The Virtual Black Watch, The 5th Infantry Brigade. I hope to be forming closer ties with the 7th Armoured division, who, ironically, the KRRC fought side-by-side with for three years in the desert!

We have a wide range of gaming experience in the unit. I myself am a veteran of DF2 and Rogue Spear. I would like to think that I have much to offer the allies in a tactical capacity. We have veterans of all sorts of online games, along with a large number of newbies, many of whom are interested in WWII.

We currently have 32 members in a historically accurate unit structure. The unit is at platoon size ate the moment, however I can see us quickly expanding to become a company with the current rate of recruiting. I have been in contact with a veteran, Colonel I H McCausland, who has supplied me with accurate details of the unit structure at platoon and company levels as well as providing me with a great deal of historical information on the unit since 1755!

We are taking some historical license in fighting from the beginning of the battle for France, as the 2nd Battalion was actually deployed at the end of May. This is not a terrible inaccuracy, simply a little historical license.

Anyone reading this because they are interested in allying with the KRRC, please contact me at [email protected] (on MSN Messanger) or ICQ number 64042199 or Yahoo! Messanger [email protected] (Please do not use this as an e-mail address, I rarely check it).
