The Sten Mk 2
was used from 1942 onwards and was an extremely
simple weapon. It was unfairly disliked by many
British troops, if prone to jamming. The jamming
problem could be solved by only using a 30 round
magazene. The mk 2 was replaced by the mk 3 in
British army service in 1943.
