| 9/27/03 We woke up in the RV lot and we were the only camper. I soon found out when I went to the office that we are not supposed to be there with our utility trailer! But they took our 45 dollars anyway. It wouldn�t have been our first choice to stay there but we were so tired necessity led us to them. Ironically we were reimbursed 45 dollars by Sid for the trike for shipping. So that�s how we spent our �extra� money. We headed out on highway 8 going East. We turned up 79 and saw beautiful hills and went down a winding road. |

| There was an old mining town that we got gas at. At one time there had been a booming gold mine around here. We stopped in the heat for lunch and I was so thankful for the generator and the air conditioner. It was so hot but we were able to stop for lunch. We passed by the desert and the Saltan sea. Beautiful carved bare hills were all around us. |
| We found a place out in the desert for our girls to run. It was so hot that neither of them ran and Sam actually army crawled under the trailer for shade. Smart dogs! We finally made it into Palm Springs and my parents surprised me when they called and said they were right behind us. They had driven their car to meet us! They led us to their new condo. They are in the process of remodeling and the place has a lot of potential. We went out for dinner with my parents and their friends |

| We went out for Chinese food and it was really good. It was an all you can eat buffet. We then all headed back and the dogs were so excited to see us but uncertain about these new people. It wasn�t long before they had warmed up to everybody and Sam and Ginger were even able to give out face licks. That was doggy heaven. Later in the evening we got Kim�s trike out and it is so much fun to ride. We took both dogs out running on springer and it was so much fun! It sure is hot in Palm Springs. We tried to use the camper but the generator is just too loud in these residential areas. We will work out a plan but for tonight we are at my parents with our dogs protecting us around the bed just like at home. I hope tomorrow is a cooler day. |
