William Allen Longfellow was the second child of four of Robert Longfellow and Emily Francis Murrow born on 17 Nov 1874 in Millport, Knox, Missouri. He was only 6 years old when his mother died. His father decided to move to Elk Falls,
Elk, Kansas just after Emily died in about 1881. Robert's father
Jonathan had already moved to Elk Falls and started up a lumber mill. close to the falls. William Allen met Viola Mae Stewart in Elk Falls and She was bon 21 Oct 1875 in Ashland, Sanders, Nebraska..They married on 13 May 1899 in Elk Falls. Together they had 3 sons: 1) Orville Leroy Longfellow born 9 Feb 1900 2)Carroll Robert b. 15 Jun 1903 and 3) Rex Longfellow b. 15 Jul
1911. Carroll Robert married Martha Dixon on 2 Feb 1928 and Rex Longfellow first married a Margaret on 1941 and second married Helena Magdeline Bolton in Nov of 1944.
William Allen died on 30 Dec 1947 in Moline, Elk, Kansas and was buried in Elk Falls, Kansas. Viola Mae (Stewart) Longfellow died 4 Nov.1939 in Moline, Elk, Kansas.
