Joseph Longfellow,Jr. was the firstborn child of Joseph Longfellow,Sr. and Mary Fowler Joseph Longfellow b.1766 son of John b.1740 or whether it was Jonathan born 1715 remains unclear. It seems most of the descendants that lived in Murderkill were either descendants of William born 1712 or his brother Jonathan born 1715 and also there was their other brother Thomas that married Margeret Mercer.Other Longfellows living in Kent, Delaware included descendants of John Longfellow b. 1740. Any new documentation on these familes would be greatly appreciated. Joseph Longfellow,Jr. b.5 Apr 1804 while his parents stopped from their migration trek in Kentucky. Joseph married first to Anna Sullivan on 8 Mar 1827 in Ohio. They had 6 children: 1)Mary Jane Longfellow b.25 Apr 1828,she married Aaron Spaulding 10 Dec 1856 possibly in Clinton,DeWitt,Ill.2)Joshua Milton Longfellow b.17 May 1829 in Ohio, he married Hannah Jane Hartley 17 Oct 1851 and he was a Baptist Minister. He died 21 Feb 1914 in Ohio.3)Joseph Parker Longfellow b.7 Sep 1830 married had 3 children and later moved to Texas.4)Richard Moses Longfellow b.8 Dec 1831 in Logan,Ohio. Richard married Melinda Ann Brite 19 Oct 1854 in Logan,Ohio and Richard Moses died 25 Jun 1892 near Broken Bow,Nebraska. John Rutledge Longfellow Here is a picture of Richard Moses contributed by Ralph Longfellow This Richard Moses had Richard Moses Jr.24 Jun 1867 and he married Annie Sutherland Clouston 5)Aaron Jackson Longfellow b.3 Sep 1833 Spring Hill,Logan,Ohio and married Elizabeth Caples in 1860 or 1861.6)William Henry Harrison Longfellow b.1 Jul 1835 in Logan,Ohio and married Nancy Jane Beebee 1 Dec 1861. William H.H. died on 24 Sep 1883. Joseph Longfellow,Jr. married again after the death of Anna Sullivan on 1 Aug 1836 to Mary Pollock Ward that had been previously married and 3 children from her previous marriage. He married Mary 7 Apr 1842 and they had 8 children:1)Oliver Perry b.30 Jan 1843 2)Nancy Ann b.22 Jul 1844, she married James Phillip Roush on 12 Jan 1863 in Logan,Ohio.3)Sarah Elizabeth b.26 Jan 1847 and she married Luther Ellis on 24 Jun 1869.4)John Layton b.9 Apr 1848 5)George Andrew 6)James Morris 7)Isaac Newton Longfellow 8)Jabus or Jabez b. Apr 1868 died 4 years later. Anyone with further information on perhap's the brother's of Joseph information is lacking in this area.
