Our Health
care system has lost its vision, and is in serious need of a heart transplant.
Your doctors’ opinion on what is best for your health should never be over
ruled by a hospital, your government, or a corporate health care agency.
All medical facilities should be open to all who are in need of medical
care. If your doctor prescribes a particular medication or treatment you
should receive it without any hassle. I would support an over haul of our
current health care ideology. Time for change has come. I would support
legislation which would allow an individual to take legal action against
HMO’s". I would support an over haul of the failed Tenncare. I will
work in coordination with health care agencies to form a better system
to serve our indigent citizens. Health care must be affordable, available
and accessible for all who need it. A person who needs an operation
or is in need of specific medical care to better their lives but cannot
currently afford it, should not be turned away at the door. The cruel practice
of pay before you receive medical care, along with a person being denied
health coverage due to pre-existing conditions goes against our basic rights.
How can a person access any of these basic freedoms if they are continually
in pain, unable to enjoy the things in life most of us do freely. I will
propose legislation which would make a physicians file, including complaints,
disciplinary action taken, as well as the reason for the disciplinary action
available to the public. Medical care should be thought of
first and foremost and with the bottom line always being what is best for
the patient.
