Stamsvik og Nordfold, Nordland, Norway
Here is my great-great grandfather's (Morten Olai Larsen) barn/farm on the edge of a fjord (Nordfold), just south of the Lofoten Islands, east of Bodo, Nordland, Norway, on the North Sea. The village, Stamsvik or Stamvik, is gorgeous, the people are friendly, and I'm probably related to everyone there!
I visited there in 1980, and met some remarkable relatives. The land is beautiful. This is the view from the front of the house where my Grandfather Karl Karlsen was born in the early 1900s.
The old part of this house is the original house, and is probably where my grandfather was born (according to the relatives there.
Here is the view from the house looking south toward the fjord. 
When I traveled to Nordfold, I got off the ferry here, near the harbor. The fishing boats were incredibly beautiful, especially in the dim light of the Norwegian winter. This is the harbor at Nordfold, at about 2 p.m. in mid-November.
