It must be a sign that we are really busy as it's taken me over 2 months to update the website since we returned to Abu Dhabi. I had such plans this summer to visit so many people and it just didn't happen. Must try harder next year!

This is what we've been up to.

In June we went to Clive's Company 'Family Day' and Clive could not resist the opportunity to take David on a jet ski.
I wonder which child is enjoying it the most!
Now it all seems so long ago since nana and grandpa collected us from the airport on our arrival in the UK in mid-June but looking at the photos we have some fond memories.
The day after we arrived, grandpa had a trailer load of logs delivered ready for the winter [nothing like being prepared!] David was delighted to see a tractor in action and we all spent several hours carting the logs from the driveway to the woodstore.
Even Catherine took a turn pushing the wheelbarrow and was thrilled with the opportunity to wear her woolly hat and fleece.
The children loved being outside in the garden and for the first two weeks it was non-stop visiting.
Our first visit was to stay with our beautiful cousins Sophie and Chloe.
Then we had our usual annual visit from Dru.
Next it was Auntie Kath's 70th Birthday party ....
.... and another opportunity for David to sing Happy Birthday and blow out candles.
I finally managed to get a photo of all four cousins looking at the camera at the same time.
Then went to Wales to stay with grandma and granddad. Our first shopping trip was to buy some wellies! David is proudly wearing his Bob the Builder wellies on a visit to Carreg Cennen Castle.
We also visited the nearby Wildfowl Centre as usual and this year David was old enough to hold his bag of grain to feed the ducks.
Catherine prefered to run after them, especially in her new red wellies.
Back in Worcestershire, Pam and Paul had a family party at their new home. Fortunately the weather was pleasant enough to let us eat outside although it was one of those typical English days where I was alternating between my fleece and shorts.
No-one else seemed to notice the cold!
Certainly not David who was getting intimate with the latest addition to the family.
Nor Charlie, who thought it was great fun to spray everyone with the hosepipe!
Back in Wales after Clive's arrival, it was time for David's 3rd Birthday Party.
This year the theme was Winnie the Pooh.
Bob the Builder is also very popular - especially as he has a tractor.
And David had loads of new story books to read at bedtime.
Another visit to Folly Farm - what a wonderful place!
Hundreds of birds and animals, not to mention tractors ....
...and plenty of opportunities to eat ice cream.
Another day out, this time on a steam train.
I wonder who enjoyed this trip the most!

And finally, did mummy and daddy get a chance to get away by themselves? Yes, they did. They went off to Greece and left David and Catherine with grandma and granddad.

We returned to Vassiliki, a windsurfing/sailing mecca. Stayed with 'Wildwind', in a delightful little family run pension.

Was it relaxing? Well, Clive cycled up that mountain before breakfast one day.

And I did a fair bit of biking too.
I windsurfed every day although it wasn't always windy enough for Clive. [This is Clive not me I hasten to add!]
But we did relax now and again.
So that's our update for now. We did see lots of other people during the summer but I still have a film in my camera waiting to be developed.
Next week is Catherine's 2nd Birthday - that's really scary! Then it will be Ramadan for most of November - shorter working hours, sleepy students and an Eid holiday to look forward to at the end. Our next big holiday is in January and Clive and I are going skiing - back to Meribel again. Anyone interested in joining us, click on this website.
[We're booked in Chalet Jolie from 18th Jan - 1st Feb 2003].

David and Catherine will be taking care of grandma and granddad in Abu Dhabi while we're away.
