Character Counts

Character counts is a school-wide program that was started to address the concept of character in our school. The program is built upon six pillars: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, citizenship, and caring.

Our goal is to draw together parents, teachers, administrators, and others of diverse backgrounds and professions to reinforce the cardinal message that everyone has a part to play in teaching young people to be responsible and live with integrity.

Character Education will be a part of our school in the following ways:

Educating Staff in the August Inservices
School Wide themes based on one of the 6 pillars of character
Assemblies to celebrate themes and student work
Inspirational Halls and Walls
Integrated Character Education lesson ideas for each grade level
Student Recognition Programs
Staff Appreciation Programs
Volunteer and Parent Group Activities
