Right Tunnel
Corik headed down the right tunnel. It was fairly long, and he noticed a control panel to his right with some symbols on it that he did not choose to examine closely. Instead he proceeded to the other side.
As he neared the end, he heard a loud panging sound, a noise coming from up inside the tunnel above him. Suddenly a part of the tunnel collapsed, stones and rubbles scattering across the ground leaving a pile of dust in the air from which it had fallen. Once the dust settled, Corik saw what had descended along with it.
A huge machine, almost as big as the circumference of the entire rim of the tunnel, lifted itself up on its two legs. It was built and shaped rather oddly, Corik thought. But the design was no flaw. Its legs were long treds, almost like those of an old fashioned tank. Its two extendable arms, painted red, provided the movement however, digging into the ground ahead and pulling the machine forward as it retracted. It moved slow due to its weight, for its entire upper body was loaded with weaponry. Cannons and rapid-fire lasers, even some heat-seeking rockets were all built in. Corik couldn’t believe it, but in the center was a large blue circle, obviously its power center. But it also looked like another weapon, and the thought was confirmed as a bright ice blue beam shot out of its center toward Corik. He jumped out of the way, and the beam blew dirt and soil in the air, creating a small crater in the ground from the impact where Corik had been standing.
He wasn’t sure how smart this robot was, but it definitely had the fire power to take down the whole tunnel on top of them both if it had no programming against it. He didn’t want to wait to find out. He acted quickly.
