| This is my dog Nails. He is a Brindle Pit Bull male. He was born in December, 2000. Although he is full grown, he acts like a spoiled brat. He has to be the center of attention all the time. He is really jealous my computer! |

This picture was made by recording the scene onto tape using a Samsung SCF703 VHS videocamcorder. I then used a "Snappy Video Capture" device to snag the picture off the video tape. Although the device uses a parallel port interface (a major drawback), it can still capture images at resolutions up to 1920X1440 in "high quality still scene" mode. Because of the limitations inherent with standard video tapes, I had to do a lot of editing to make this image "viewable". |
| Here is Nails again using the same video camera, the only difference is that no videotape was used. IOW it was a completely digital operation after the image was transfered from the analog lens. The difference is not as dramatic here as it is in real life. The reasons are the compression ratios used for ease in web transmissions, the autofocus lens on the camcorder, and that fact that the dog wouldn't sit still, but be assured that this method provides much higher picture quality. |
