Extending The Transfer Case Shifter Lever |
When you do the lift, the small gear lever will disapear into the floor. The thread on the gear knob is the same 1.25 mm thread pitch that the body bolts are. I re-used one of the threaded studs that you take out of the back two body mounts and bolted it onto the gear lever using a longer joining nut. Then screwed the knob straight onto the threaded stud! I used two other nuts to lock the joiner nut into place. The gear boot covers the nuts up, and it works fine. The gear sticks cannot touch in any combination of gears. |

This is how I extended my gear lever using one of the studs that I removed from the rear body mounts |

The End Result |
I am happy with the result after doing my 60mm body lift. My 30x9.5 inch Mud tyres are only new still, so I won't be upgrading them for a while. This just means I won't get the full benefit of my body lift just yet. I also have to lift the bumper up. I have a good idea of how to do this, so when they are done I will add another section to this page with some more photos. |
