I really hope i don't get done for plagarising. Ah well, that basically gives you the background shit you need to enjoy this classic. If you saw Lock Stock, this one's even better. It is f***ing hilarious. without giving too much away, an american diamond thief by the name of Avi (Dennis Farina, third from the left) is waiting to regain a stolen jewel from London, from his head man, Franky Four Fingers (Benicio del Toro, far left). En route, Franky is unavoidably kidnapped and quite avoidably killed. The diamond falls between several parties who want it back rather badly, and one who really didn't want to go to England. Enter Bullet-Tooth (Vinnie Jones, second on left) one of many who try in vain to retrieve it.
Meanwhile, two unlicensed rookie boxing promoters, Tommy (Stephen Graham) and Turkish (Jason Statham, far right) have found the fighter to make their dreams come true. "One Punch" Mickey O'Neill (Brad Pitt, Centre) an Irish Gypsy boxer, who isnt exactly in the good books of top promoter and gang leader, Brick Top (Alan Ford). So much so, in fact, that Brick Top takes some of his anger out on something very close to the pikey's heart...
I loved this film. Go and see it, or buy the video or DVD or something, just make sure you get to watch it someway. You won't regret it.
The narration from Turkish, the completely unpredictable plot turns, the sheer artistry of Vinnie Jones, the brilliant sound track, the camera work, everything, add up to a legendary British film. Even the dog (aloune's girl, centre bottom).
