| 112. Doublemeat Palace ( Thanks to Lea for the Episode Guide.) Willow, Xander and Anya discuss trying to find the hideout of Jonathan, Andrew and Warren.While they are talking, Buffy shows up dressed in a fast food uniform wearing a hat with a cow on it. At her new job she watches training films about the Doublemeat Palace, her new place of employment. Buffy believes something weird is going on and tells her friends this when they show up at her job. Spike arrives a little later and they argue about her working there, he tells her that he can get money if that�s what she needs. Gary, an employee, gets attacked behind the restaurant and doesn�t show up for work the next day. While working a double shift Buffy sees Spike outside and meets up with him in the alleyway behind the Doublemeat and they have sex. At Xander�s a demon appears and turns out to be Halfrek, a friend of Anya�s, who has arrived a little early for the wedding. Buffy keeps inquiring as to what the secret ingredient in the Doublemeat Burgers is and after she finds a thumb underneath the meat grinder she thinks it's people. After she hysterically warns the patrons about the sandwiches she is fired. Amy visits Willow, wanting to take the habitrail she lived in as a rat. They talk about magic and Amy gives Willow a dose of magic without her permission. Halfrek questions Anya about Xander, while Buffy calls an emergency meeting, where only Dawn and Xander show up. She tells Dawn about the thumb and her suspicions, just as Xander is finishing a burger that she brought to the meeting. Willow comes in and hides the lingering effects of the �zap� Amy gave her. Buffy goes back to the Doublemeat to investigate and gets paralyzed by a little old lady who is a regular patron of the Doublemeat restaurant.The little old lady has a long snake like monster protruding from the top of her head! Willow arrives at the restaurant to tell Buffy the burger didn�t have human remains in it, but, that it did have a vegetable base in it. She saves Buffy when she breaks in and Buffy grinds the demon up. Willow tells Amy that they can�t be friends, while Buffy returns her uniform and talks to the new manager. She tells her she knows that the burgers are made from vegetables and that the secret ingredient is therefore meat fat. The new manageress offers her her job back if she will keep the secret! |
