| WEBLOG 2 : 11 : 2thousandfour Wow it's been a long time since the last update. I'm sorry about that I really am, but what can you do? this is one of my 1st chunks of free time since last week, & even so I only have an hr. before I've gotta take off to get a hair-cut. . . @ 10pm! Yes the life of a swingin college student is pretty busy, last weekend I hopped the bus back 2 salem to catch a ride w/Paco to Forest Grove to attend Ray's Joy Electric bash (total sleep: 2-3hrs.), fun stuff. I can't say I liked the music, but good times were had by all. We even stopped in for a morning in Portland. So 6 multi-hr. van rides and 5(at least) cities later I was back in Salem and hanging out w/my family(and that was just Sat. night!). whew! So I take the bus back to osu Mon. morning just in time to study, sprint to class, grab a quick meal and nap, practice horn, study, and repeat. Good news though, after a couple weeks of complete lack of apetite I've suddenly felt voraciously hungry this week. I feel like I could eat my weight in raw meat. seriously. So after reading my physics textbook straight thru till 3am last night I marched into the midterm room(a good 2 or 4 min. before the door closed), and prepared to answer the crap out of that test(metaphorically speaking). Turns out the thing only took 15 min. and I ended up with a couple extra hrs. to polish up the design homework I'd put off because of the mid-term. sweet deal indeed. This, the great weather, and the fact that I succesfully (and through great ammounts of dumb luck) both found out about, and dazzlingly completed a daunting graphics project the day it was due, has left me in a pretty darn good mood. (long sentence huh?) whew, time to go get a hair-cut. Cd Player: Sudeki-da-ne <isn't it wonderful>, Final FantasyX soundtrack |
| 2 : 17 : 2thousandfour Just a quick complaint before the update: a quick comment on the stunning service provided by osu's housing and dining dept. : How long does it take uhds to replace a light bulb? 6 days and still counting. When my main ceiling light went out last week I e-mailed the online repair form. . . waited for 3 or 4 days . . . went down to the service desk . . 3 times . . . finally I come back to my room to find a repair report : "job was completed". Great, I turn on my light and it works! . . . for about a day and a half. So now my light is back to the same half-burnt-out state it's been in, requiring me to use 3 lamps to get the same light it used to give. yaeh osu. What have I been up to? I was back in Salem last weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday and some good news: my sister Annie has been excepted to be an exchange student to Japan! yes next summer she'll be going to high school in the land of the rising sun. Back here I'm swamped with work: class, homework, projects, and a physics report I havn't even started. At least finals are a ways off. I'm escaping the stress by way of my emulator addiction. the current monkeys on by back are Raiden and Zero-Wing (of "all-your-base" fame) for the Genesis emulator and Goldeneye for the N64 em. | 2 : 22? : 2thousandfour Ahh Saturday. Get up at noonish, pay videogames for awhile, get dressed and get to that MASSIVE AMOUNT OF HOMEWORK!! Well that's nice. I'm in corvallis this weekend, so I can hopefully come close to getting it done. Finished a lab write-up & a large graphics project last night @ around 11:30pm and now I have 2 days to paint 2 design projects. I'm really getting lamed-out w/ that class. I'm getting a C if I'm lucky due to the giant workload and deceptive heartless grading she uses & all the while it's on assignments that allow all the creative potential of a speed bump. This week's stimulating project? Paint a color wheel. Whee, if only I'd kept the one I did in grade school. The good news is I've made time to work on my "Army of Z-nor" game. I've completed the templates for several different level types which means the next few will go very quickly. I'm also working out a branching level-select system that'll offer some new strategic challenges for experienced Starcraft players. Did I mention I've also got to get ready for the band concert next sunday which I'm not only preforming, but also illustrating? Yeah even more work! CD Player: Pepper(remix), Butthole Surfers |
| Mardi Gras : 2thousandfour Well not much to say, I'm done w/ the work from the weekend - now all I've got to do is research & write a paper on Pythagoras, get 4 or 5 peices of music up to concert level, do about 8 or 9 more illustrations, & write up the last physics lab, by friday. Oh & keep up w/ all the everyday work my teachers assign. I did post up a couple of images; one from a graphics cd project and the other a take-off of the base drawing. Hopefully I'll be able to post an Army of Z-nor level for you try out soon too. Oh 1 more thing: if anyone's free this Sun. I'll be preforming w/ the osu wind ensemble in Corvallis. We'll do the same show again @ the High School band festival soon(w/ some possible omissions). E-mail me to get directions (it's not on campus). | 3 : 1 : 2oo4 Boy Howdy! so to speak. After 2 weeks of pretty much solid work I'm finally done. The big concert's over (although there's still the H.S. band festival to play), I finished all 19 illustrations, I'm caught-up on my graphics and design projects, My physics biography is done & polished, & I finally had time to clean out the Bio-hazard zone my room had turned into. Now if I can just shift my sleep schedule back to normal-human hours I'll be good to go. One thing you have to do before you leave your computer today: check out the site-o-the-week. The karate comic My New Fighting Technique & the extremely harsh Get Your War On are both featured there & are very funny (if you don't mind massive profanity).
