Backround: Born in Bitra Hold to a gambler and a mother who worked as a foster mother for other people's children. She grew up under the care of her mother along with lots of other children, but Rela always tried to do special things for her own children. Riel is the second of three children. When she was a child she was always hanging around her mother's skirts. She helped care for the younger children in her mother's care. Around twelve turns old she was apprenticed under the journeyman healer at Bitra. She got to visit the healer hall for more official training two-three times a year for a four sevenday or so . She was searched thanks to her sisters attempt to rob a blue rider . At the hatching at Telgar the queen dragonet tripped and tried to steady herself on Riel. She left three long and deep cuts down Riel�s arm. The evenr shook her, and although she was asked, she never stood as a candidate again. After neither Malie or Riel impressed at the hatching at Telgar Mariek tried to kidnap them to bring them back to Bitra. They were barely saved by their older brother and his dragon. Malie, Riel, and M'rek decided that they needed to move far away so they could continue to live at a weyr and not worry about being kidnapped by their father. M'rek and his brown couldn't protect both of his sisters at Telgar. They decided that Dark Cove Weyr, being an ocean away, would be just the place for them to stay. Hopefully a sea would be large enough to keep an angry and jealous father away. M'rek brought his sisters to Dark Cove Weyr, and then returned to Telgar for a month or two in order to cover up their departure. He eventually came to live with them. Mali stood without her sister at Dark Cove�s next hatching and impressed green. Riel was ecstatic for her little sister until the plague hit. It took both of her siblings from her. She earned her journeywoman�s knots during the plague as she desperately tried to keep rider�s from suiciding.

Personality: Riel is not outgoing, but she is certainly friendly. She's a hard worker and has great perseverance. She is kind and compassionate, and tries to keep her patients comfortable. She has an iron will especially when it comes to a patients best interest. She lives to help other people, and doesn�t ever want to be a bother. She feels she is very blessed to be working in a weyr and not at Bitra. She is most happy when she can put a smile on someone elses face. She tends to forget about her own needs in the process. She's humble and respectful of her elders. She's a bit shy when she first meets people, but after you know her she's a great friend to have. She�s always been an optimistic girl, and while the plague was able to take some of that for her, she is still over all does her best to look at the bright side of everything.

Pets: Khan is the name of her little orange feline. Khan belonged to one of the riders before she committed suicide. Riel took the feline in, and it has stayed with her ever since. Khan is very affectionate, and loves to curl up against the patients in the infirmary while napping.
Hobbies/Skills: She enjoys making beaded necklaces and bracelets, but she devotes the bulk of her time to the infirmary.
