Build: A sturdy girl, but mostly a quick one. Lithe and muscled. She may not be large, but she can throw a mean punch.
Height: 5�4�
Weight: about 125 lbs.
Eye color: dark brown, close to blackish
Hair color/Style: Dark, dark brown, almost out of place on the rest of her, thick and a bit wavy. Cut to her shoulders though, and pulled back, though of course some pieces fall out.
Complexion: freckled on her face and tanned�despite the dark eyes and hair, her skin on its own is fair.
Scars or birthmarks: scars around her wrists where they were rubbed raw by rope when she captured for a month once; they never tan. Various nicks and scrapes are usually on her. She�s also got a slashing scar on her upper left arm from a knife and her otherwise straight and average nose is a bit crooked from being broken once.
Jewelry or weapons: no jewelry. She�s always got a compass in her pocket and a knife at her side. She�s decent with a sword as well, though she doesn�t always carry one with her.
Favorite colors/dress: Brown pants, white shirts (well, they used to be white). Greens and blues would be very flattering to her, but she doesn�t care for dressing up. Soft-hided boots that she can move in easily.

Background: Razira�s mother, Jilana, had a sweeping one-night affair with the exotic-looking Tornan, and that�s all it took for her to become pregnant. A woman who could do fine on her own, Jilana went through her pregnancy without seeing the man in port again, bore a daughter and began raising her on her own, teaching her the ways of the seacraft almost from day one. But when Tornan�s old pirate ship came through town and ransacked some of the local boats, hers was one of them and she died on the blade of one of his shipmates. Tornan saw this, and recognized her, and pushed the other man away. She died not knowing Tornan was one of the pirates, but his conscience demanded he at least take her body to shore and not let in go down in the sea with no one knowing. On his way off the boat, a girl not three years old came running up, crying after her mother. The hair, the eyes, the cut of her jaw�this was very obviously Tornan�s get. So he brought the mother to shore, and took the girl with him; his other child (that he knew of), a son named Taber, was already on the ship. So Razira began her life of piracy at 3 with her father and half-brother. A quick study, quick on her feet and with a quick wit and mouth to boot, she was well-adapted to the lifestyle, and when they changed ships down in the South, she was already second only to her father and brother on the Tops, climbing in the rigging, changing sails and ropes and knowing her way about the masts almost better than the rest of the boat. Her brother and she have always had a fun sibling rivalry between them, no real malice, but always trying to one up each other. At 15, she was captured by some Holders while the others were looting the Hold, and kept for a month in the closest thing they had to a jail, which was a stone and cold storage room. Though fed and kept alive, her constant struggles against her ties are what scarred her wrists. Finally after a month, the ship returned in the night and attacked again, getting her out and away they sailed. She�s been rather resentful of most Holders and the bureaucracy of Holds ever since. Weyrs, though the pirates she travels with who hate Dark Cove, she�s not run into a personal problem with just yet, holding something of a healthy respect and slight distaste for dragons and their riders. But she does as she�s told on the ship, and most of her job is with the sails, not the guns, anyhow.

Personality: Rough and tumble tomboy, but definitely gaining an awareness that she�s one of the few females on the ship, Razira has always been able to hold her own ground and if she can�t come back with a witty retort, she�ll do so with a fist instead. She enjoys her freedom and doesn�t want to ever be held down to kind of lives she believes hold and craft women to have, sworn to their men and masters and lords, never being able to choose for themselves or live their own lives as they see fit. Razira is independent to the end, and pretty contrary, too. She doesn�t remember much of her mother, but knows she loved her and knows the truth of her death; her father told her that much, and the man who did cut her down is not on the ship she serves on anyways. She doesn�t blame her father for Jilana�s death. She fairly idolizes her dad, and loves him and her brother fiercely, and serves her ship with loyalty.

Pets: none
Hobbies/Skills: an excellent swimmer, climber and fighter. Good with her fists and a blade, quick on her feet and she could disappear in the sails in an instant.
