Calcutta is famous for Trekking And Mountaineering. There are many clubs and institutes that conducts different basic courses on trekking. Those institutes has good connections with the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute of India.

Firstly I must mention one Name, Mr.Dilip Naskar. A talented, Famous Climber of This country having an excellent skill in rock climbing and high altitude climbing. He is the ex-trainer of HMI (Himalayan Mountaineering Institute), Darjeeling, The same institute which has the background of Great Climbers Like Tenjing Norgey, The First man on the Top of the world. Mr.Dilip Naskar (Known As David), is running a company "CLIFFLINE" on mountaineering equipments which provides best quality among all Indian Equipments. It's located in South Calcutta. Other Than "CLIFFLINE" there is one more company named "ALPINE" which manufactures quality products of Climbing (Like- Climbing Rope, Gaiter, Rock Hammer, Ice Hammer, Ice Axe, Piton etc.). For a new comer in this sport, one basic training is required (if he/she is very new to traveling field and feels lack of both physical as well as mental confidence). A basic rock climbing course can be attended in December January session in Purulia (West Bengal) and can direct chance in HMI for Basic and Advance Courses.

I'm also in touch with "Daring Wings", a group of mountain lovers. We've a group of few members for our expeditions and tours in the Himalayan range. We don't conduct any expedition, be a part. but if you have a group of fresher and interested then we are here to help you.
