Monthly Report: September, 2001
The staff from the Solar Energy Program (PES) held a farewell reception in honor of Hubert Normil, Director of Development, as he soon leaves for France for a 2 year program of studies. All the members from PES and some friends marked, by their presence, a symbolic gesture of love and brotherhood. On this occasion, after a champagne toast and cutting of cake, each person cried, not with tears, but with sadness for the soon departure of Normil. And each used this occasion to testify to the dynamism of work from the director, his simplicity, and so forth. He also didnt hesitate to express his profound love for the program even when he will not be present.
We received a letter from Pastor Delpé Frandy, who has worked for the program for several years, and who most recently had been heading up the PES bakery, explaining that he was no longer free to work for PES due to the need to continue his studies.
After Devotions on Monday, September 18th , the president of the Program, Pastor Eliodor Desvariste, shared some changes in the program and encouraged the staff to have even more motivation for the advancement of the program.
Following are the changes:
- Sainvilus will take over responsibility for the store.
- Gardy will be a teacher/trainer.
On Friday September 14th, there were two special bakery orders: meat pies and cakes were ordered by Pastor Georges C. Valcourt for the meeting with the returning students of the Free Methodist Bible Institute.
Tentative dates were set for two seminars. The one, at the request of Mr. Rodolphe for his association (OBDEM) in the communal section of Jacmel named Marbial, and the other at the request of Mr. Evens for the benefit of the Hans Miselaine institution at Petite Place Cazeau. These two seminars didnt take place due to the fact that contact with the leaders wasnt possible.
