History of the Games
The AnimOlympics began back in 1948, after the end of World War II, when a
group of young Olympic hopefuls were kept from competing in the World Olympic
Games based on one small fact - they weren't human. Since then, the fastest,
strongest, and finest animal athletes gather from around the world to compete
and enjoy themselves in the AnimOlympics.
Held every four years on the second to last weekend of June, this growing event
brings excitement to any one - male, female, or human - who watches.
Come and enjoy this year's AnimOlympics to be held in beautiful and deserty
Namibia, one of the few remaining homes to our star athletes, the cheetahs.
This year, competitors are coming from multiple countries which include: China,
Namibia, Australia, the United States, Canada and International Waters.
To find out more about the competing countries and their elite athletes, visit
the Countries Home Page. To see our competitors
fight for the gold in the 100 Meter Dash, the 100 Meter Freestyle or the 1/4 Mile
Crew event, go to the Events Page.* And if you'd like
to take home a memory or two by visiting the AnimOlympic
Store you can treat yourself to Offical AnimOlympic sweatshirts, t-shirts,
hats and pins.
*Note: The results in every event in the AnimOlympics are determined by a
random number generator. Results for each race can/will differ each time
the race is run.
