Friendship. Peace. Joy.
Blah, blah, blah.
While these things help us enjoy ourselves while we're here, we're here for the competition. For the past 52 years, the events have been the cornerstone of the Games and have brought creatures from all over the world in peace, friendship, and joy. They've also brought lots of excitement. These animal athletes have trained since the last AnimOlympic Games so that they'll be ready to give all they've got in the following exciting events:
The 100 Meter Dash is a true test of our competitor's pure speed. At the gun, our five athletes will sprint as fast as they can to reach the finish line before the others. Of course, Logadima Cheetah is the runner to beat, but she'll be pushed hard by "Gimpy" Squirrel and Zev Wolfe. And of course, you can't count out Sidney Kangaroo and Flat Panda - both are here to win.
The 100 Meter Freestyle sounds simple - two laps in a pool. It gets a little more complicated, though, when you have to beat three other well trained athletes to the finish. With both Miami Dolphin and Pegasus Seahorse entered in this event, you have to figure the International Waters team is in good position to grab the gold.
With four rowers per boat, this event can move pretty fast. And considering that each of the rowers has been training for the past four years, they'll be even faster. In the past, this has been a fairly even competition, and this year should be no different. Each team seems focused and ready to race.
