Chapter 1: Strange Sounds

Underneath the streets of New York City, 6 mutants live in their sewer home, doing whatever they normally did on this cool, fall afternoon.
Three of them sat around a table playing cards. The other typed away at his computer, an another sat on the ground as she meditated, and the other napped in his room.
It was a quiet scene, but not for long . . .

A few hours later, they were sitting around, obviously bored stiff, when a thundering-type sound was heard.

"What? We're getting rain now?" asked Leonardo as he looked up at the ceiling.

"Ah man, we don't have enough buckets for all of the leaks!" whined Michealangelo.

"Uh guys, there's no storm. There isn't even a cloud in the sky." said Donatello, as he looked at his "Turtlefied eye in the sky" program on his computer.

"So what is that then?" asked Venus, as she stopped meditating.

           "I don't know. I can't pinpoint it." said Donatello.

"So let's go check it out." said Raphael as he got up.

"I don't know, it could be dangerous. There must be something out there." said Leonardo.

"But we cannot just sit around here and let it do whatever it pleases. We must see what it is. It could be of some significance to us." said Venus, also getting up.

"I agree. Go look. Such strange occurences usually do have some significance to us." said Master Splinter.

"Good, all right then. You all heard the Master, let's go." said Raph as he began leaving their home.

They all did likewise, taking their weapons with them to make sure that they'd be ready to defend themselves.

The Turtles soon came to a manhole and opened it. They all came out and looked around.

The streets around there were desolate, just like how they were supposed to be at that time of the night, in that area. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary . . . for the moment.

Suddenly, the thundering could be heard again, but it wasn't thundering at all, it was more like a growl. It kept coming closer and closer, so the Turtles ran into an alley way, and hid there, waiting for whatever it was to pass.

All of a sudden, the growling stopped, but they heard the footsteps of something, something with feet that made a "tip, tap" sound on the concrete as it walked, giving the suggestion that it had long, sharp claws.

The Turtle group were getting a bit scared as they wondered what  was out there.
Raphael was the only one who wasn't getting scared; he made sure that his sai was close to his hands.
They soon saw what was making the noise; an armored beast-like creature with fangs and sharp claws on its hands and feet. It walked down the street, looking around as if it was searching for something.

Suddenly, the beast spotted them, and its deep red eyes glistened in the streetlights, and almost looked as if they were glowing for a moment. It growled as it bared it's glistening fangs.
The Turtle group began shaking a bit, and were almost frozen in shock. They had never seen anything like it before (and they've seen A LOT of weird things.)

"Uh oh, it sees us." said Mikey as he shook.

"We gotta get out of here." said Leo as he glanced around, looking for an escape.

Just then, they heard a loud voice shouting as it came closer.
               "Geronimo!" the voice shouted.
A large figure swung past them on the rope of a grappling hook and rammed straight into the huge beast.
"Come on you filthy beast, make my day." the figure said in a challenging voice as she got up.

The Turtles were amazed as they saw that the figure was a female mutant Turtle with a dark pink bandanna. She fought with the beast, who almost seemed to be winning for a moment, until she took what appeared to be an electric gun out of her belt, and shot at it with a laser ray.
The ray bounced off the beast's heavy chest armor, so she shot at it again, but this time at a different angle, this time hitting it in the unprotected region of its neck.
It held its bleeding neck, and bellowed out loudly as it died, then just lied there in the street, its neck smoking from the burn of the laser ray.
The mutant Turtle stood there catching her breath.

Soon, another figure flew past the Turtles on the rope of another grappling hook, and stopped right next to the mutant Turtle. She had long black hair, and wore a leather body suit (not tight).

"The warriors are getting stronger." the mutant Turtle said.

"Tell me about it. I just fought a couple downtown." said the girl.

"Have you found their complex yet?" asked the Turtle.

"No, but it's midtown somewhere. They all seem to be coming from that direction." said the girl.

"It figures. There are quite a few abandoned buildings down there." said the Turtle.

"Any idea it began attacking towards the alley before you came?" asked the girl.

"Yeah, those guys hidin' in the shadows over there." replied the Turtle.

The Turtles were surprised, they thought that they were completely unnoticeable. They slowly stepped out of their hiding place now, and into plain view on the street where the girl and her Turtle friend were.

"How'd you know we were back there?" asked Leonardo as they came out.

The girl and her Turtle friend looked at them.

"We can sense the prescense of others. It's how we survive. But why were you all hidin' over there anyway?" asked the girl.

"We heard these thunder-like noises from underground, and wanted to come up here and see what it was." explained Donatello.

"Well, next time you hear noises like that, stay underground. It's not safe out here for you." said the girl as she took out a laser.
She turned a dial on it until the light on it was green, and shot at the beast, which vaporized on contact. Then she put the laser away.

"Cool, where are you guys from?" asked Mikey.

             "Somewhere
far from here." said the Turtle, as she glanced around the area.

Just then, the "tip, tap" of claws, and the low growling noise was heard again.

The girl and her Turtle friend readied their lasers.

               "Get ready." said the girl.

"You guys better scram, this is gonna get dangerous." said the Turtle. "How many are there?" she asked the girl.

The girl listened for a second. "Two, but these are bigger." said the girl.

"Oh great." said the Turtle sarcastically.

Two beasts came from around the corner, and upon seeing them, began charging at the girl and her mutant friend.

One of them rammed right into the Turtle, and knocked her laser out of her hand.

"Crap!" she yelled as she watched her laser skid across the concrete.

The beast caught her off guard and hooked her in the jaw. She almost fell over, but instead steadied herself, turned to the beast, and began fighting it with her own physical strength, instead of the laser, all the while backing up to where her laser was.

The girl shot the other beast, but the rays kept bouncing off of its armor. The laser power soon came all the way down, and it wouldn't work anymore.
"Stupid piece of crap." she said as she tossed it to the side.

Then as the beast charged at her, she leaped over it, and on the other side. It turned around, and was coming at her, when she nailed it hard in the unprotected region of its stomach with her heavy duty boots. The beast staggered, and was almost falling, but it steadied itself quickly. It then charged at her, and the girl jumped into the air, and did a spin kick right into its hairy face, giving it a bad nosebleed.

The Turtle finally got back to her laser, and just as she was picking it up, the beast knocked her down, and pinned her to the ground on her stomach. It began biting and beating on her shell.
"Lavia!" she shouted as she tried to get up.

The girl turned around as she right-hooked the weakening beast in the stomach, and saw her friend in trouble.

Raphael was never one to stay out of a good fight, so he ran over to the beast attacking the Turtle, and hooked it so hard in the side, that it fell off of the Turtle, and onto its back.

The Turtle then grabbed her laser and got up.

Raphael beast the beast, punching it in the stomach, giving it kicks to its chest, denting the armor, slashing at its face with his sai.

"Hold 'im steady." said the female Turtle as she pointed her laser to the beast.

The laser's power ran up its scale.
          "Duck!" shouted the Turtle.

Raphael ducked, and the Turtle shot the laser right at the beast's stomach, killing it on the spot.
Raph then stood up, and looked down at the dead beast, then back up at the other Turtle. She smiled at him, and gave him a 'thumbs up.'

The girl was still physically fighting the beast who was attacking her, when Venus shot one of her fireballs at it, causing it to stagger and fall over after the girl delivered another power kick to its chest.

The beast was then lying on its back.

"Yo Cori! Toss me the laser!" shouted the girl.

The mutant Turtle tossed it to her, and the girl took it, and shot the beast in the stomach, killing it instantly.

She then stood there, catching her breath.

The Turtle and the girl looked at each other, and smiled, then turned to the Turtles.

"You guys have skills." said the girl.

"Skill we could use." said the Turtle. Just then, she winced a bit.

           "What happened?" asked the girl.

"That . . . thing was biting on her shell." said Raphael.

"And those things hurt." said the Turtle, trying to forget about the pain.

"We have a first aid kid at home." said Venus.

"Naw, it's okay. I'll be all right." said the Turtle.

"Yeah right, you need some aspirin or somethin. We've got a lot of fighting to do, you know that. We can't have you in pain." said the girl.

The Turtle said nothing to disagree with her, she just glanced over at her friend.

"Good then, it's settled. We go to their place, and get you fixed up." said the girl.

"Come on." said Leonardo. "It's this way."

They all went to the Turtles' sewer home where Master Splinter met the two.
