Prologue

A group of 6 young kids sat on a long, thick metal pole that used to be a street lamp. Nothing but ruins, destruction and demise lay around them.

The sandy ground where there used to be an entire city built upon was now littered with dead bodies, buildings that were blown up, and smoking piles of burnt ash and rubble.

The children were all scruffy-looking and poor. Among them were two mutant Turtles who were the same age as each other, and also quite young.
One of them wore a tattered gray bandanna, and the other wore a ripped up pink bandanna.

"It's all gone." said a little red-haired boy in an old, dirty lab coat. He looked as if he were about 10 years old.

"They're all dead!" cried a little girl of about 7 years old.

"It's all that warlord's fault! He did it! He killed everyone!" exclaimed the angry 12-year-old mutant girl with the pink bandanna. Tears of anger rolled down her singed green face.

"Now even the underground colony is dead." said the mutant girl with the gray bandanna as she lowered her head in sadness.

"It's just us now. We're the last ones,   the survivors." said another one, a 9-year-old girl who looked as if she didn't believe that this was happening.

The last one was a 15-year-old girl who sat there silently with a blank expression on her face. By the expressionless way she sat there, it was easy to tell that she would not last long.

The rest all just sat there, either crying, or thinking about how unbelieveable their situation was.

        Seven years later . . .

The girl stood on the rooftop of the abandoned brick building in the middle of the city. Her long, black hair blowing in the breeze; her smooth brown skin blending into the shadows, concealing her very prescense on this cool, dark night. Her deep brown eyes searched the city in every corner, every crevice. She could sense something, something evil, someone evil.
She felt this way only once before; the very day that she always tried to forget, but couldn't. It always ran like a horrible nightmare in her mind; the day when her entire life changed forever.
The girl pushed the nightmare aside for now, and concentrated on what she sensed.

"They're close." the girl thought to herself as she looked around.
She reached over to her side and pressed a button on an object in her belt. A small blue light on the object lit up, and it was now on.
"Let's go." she said to the other with her.
A mutant Turtle with a dark pink bandanna stepped out of the shadows, and next to the girl.

"Are they close?" asked the Turtle.

"Yes they are, very." said the girl.

The Turtle turned on an object on her belt that had a "C" carved in the buckle. "Then we have to find them, before it's too late." she said.

"Agreed. They're fast workers, we have to move quickly." said the girl as she turned away from her partner, and walked off.

The Turtle followed her, and the two disappeared off the rooftop, and into the deep, dark night.
