Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rahmi) - Her riveting performance as Mimi in Rent earned her a Tony nomination for Best Actress and countless other nominations including the prestigious Drama Desk Award for Best Actress. She's graced the cover of Newsweek and appeared in Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Vibe, and dozens of other publications. However, in the truest sense of the phrase, Rubin-Vega is not an overnight sensation. The Panamanian-born actress grew up in Greenwich Village and by her early teens had already started focusing on her musical and theatrical aspirations. As an actress, Rubin-Vega started honing her craft in a number of Off-Broadway productions including Randy Newman's Faust, which enjoyed a three-month run at La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego. She can be seen in the upcoming Joel Schumacher film, Flawless with Robert DeNiro, set to premiere in October.
