Alliance Rules -- Updated:
03/29/2003
Herein is written the Rules & Regulations for the GoCA Alliance. This is not a complete listing, as we intend to adjust the structure of this alliance for the better throughout its existence.
Alliance Charter
Smaller guilds join larger alliances with the hopes that doing so will help them grow. Too often this is not the case. Many larger alliances do not seem to have the time or the inclination to assist lower levels within their alliance. That is not the case with this alliance. This is a co-operative alliance where all aspects of the participating guilds are considered – not just RvR. Through co-operation, a little compassion and some patience we intend to see every guild within this alliance reach its fullest potential.
Structure of the Alliance
We ask that each guild appoint at least one member to be an Alliance Officer. This will form a committee that will assist in the monitoring of the alliance. Think of the Alliance Officer as a “guild ambassador”. While Guardians of Castle Anthrax is the head of the alliance, it is certainly not its dictator. When issues within the alliance arise it will be the Alliance Officers that meet upon them. It is also the duty of the Alliance Officers to enforce the Alliance Chat rules. Please make sure your guild is represented with an Alliance Officer to make such processes smoother and more productive.
Structure of the Alliance
If you want a guild to join, tell them to check out the charter and rules; send them to GoCA, who will invite. Each guild will have a probationary period (time tba) after which the Ambassadors vote on whether to keep that guild in the alliance. More information to come later.
Uses of Alliance Chat
- To organize raids – be they RvR, experience or fundraising.
- To assist players find crafters and crafters find players.
- To assist players with problems in DAoC itself.
Alliance Chat Rules
Alliance chat is meant to be a productive and friendly environment for all guilds to take part in. In order to preserve this environment there are a few rules that we each must adhere to for the comfort of many.
- No abusive language. In other words, do not put another player down.
- No foul language. There are many younger players in the game so please refrain from using curse words or telling lewd and off-color jokes.
- No spamming. That is, repetitively typing the exact same thing more than twice, or similar SHOUT type remarks more than 3 times.
- No ranting. We all get frustrated from time to time, but abusive, vulgar and repetitive ranting is disruptive and unconstructive.
- If someone asks you nicely to take a conversation to a “private” chat, then please, by all means, do so. Many times conversations in /as can take on a life of their own and dominate the chat. Taking a conversation to another chat can then free up /as for more alliance-related issues.
If any of the afore mentioned rules are violated please try to first work them out amicably. Then alert the appropriate officers in the offender’s guild of the situation. If these two steps fail it will then become an issue for the alliance officers to consider.Return to Top |
