Human
Resources Department.
Dear
Sir/Madam:
I am very interested in obtaining a scientific position within a biotechnology company. I feel I have the skills and interest to be an excellent contributor to such an organization.
As
you will note, the breadth of my expertise covers a wide area of scientific
disciplines. My day-to-day output reflects a high level of motivation,
efficiency and the ability to meet any objective. In
addition to my technical qualifications I have a proven ability to troubleshoot,
I am extremely self-motivated, I have the skills to
apply strategic thinking. An innate curiosity coupled with tremendous creativity
enable me to work well independently, yet I have
an appreciation for and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Although I am extremely confident in my skills as a scientist I am open to
identifying and using the best type of tools and analysis for a particular
problem. I believe that this is a direct result of my doctoral studies which
exposed me to fairly broad training and familiarity with a lot of different
tools. I am also quite comfortable working in the Windows operating
system and have experience using common data management, graphics, and word
processing software.
I
believe that industrial science is not just science. Everyone works across
department and disciplinary boundaries. Discovery scientists may have the
opportunity to interact with employees in medical affairs, regulatory affairs,
and marketing. This requires excellent communication skills. I am extremely
personable, articulate with the ability to relate scientific information to
laymen as well as professionals. I understand the bottom-line philosophy,
deadlines, budgets that are part and parcel of working in this industry. Science
is an international endeavour and this is a global industry, therefore I am
willing to relocate wherever necessary.
I
am looking for a position in a company driven by a dynamic management team with
a proven track record. A company that is keen to develop high-quality and
innovative science across several disciplines. I welcome the opportunity to
become a part of this company.
Though detailed and comprehensive, this resumé cannot fully demonstrate the intangible qualities that make me a good scientist, this is why I invite you to take a few minutes to browse my website. However, even with this insight character, personality and the ability to work in a team environment can best be evidenced in a personal meeting. I would welcome an interviewing opportunity at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,
Max
L. Tejada Ph.D.
