More Skyline 5K stuff...Amy did very well. First overall in 18:36. She has her sights on the 5K now. The target is the Summer Breeze 5K. Always good competition there! Second place went to Sharon Guerriero in 19:59 (sorry Sharon, we didn't get your pic...don't worry next time you're on the cover!). The last time I saw Sharon was at the Elizabeth 8K race and she did well there too. Jean Aswell was close behind with a 20:15. I couldn't help noticing that both Sharon and Jean are from that thriving running community up near Lake Norman...Cornelius. Has EVERYONE moved up to the lake??? How do you folks like all that slow country living up there? So relaxing, so far from the hussle and bussle of the city life. You must love not having to put up with the traffic problems that we do down here in the big city. I guess I'm just jealous. Oh by the way, I heard a rumor that they were going to try to put restrictions on when people could take their boat out on Lake Norman. I heard something about only every OTHER DAY. Seems that the boat traffic is almost chaos right now. Sounds like so much fun. How did I get carried away like that?? Sorry.

NEXT STORY...
I met a guy named Chris Campbell at the Skyline 5K. He's lives near Marion. He was visiting his sister who lives here in Charlotte and decided to jump into the race. He said the competition was faster this year than last year (apparently he had checked out the results from last year's race. He's hoping to come back this summer to run some of the tour races. I hope he does. He's a good runner. I don't have his email so if anyone knows it, forward our link to him.

Randy Mendat ran well but not quite good enough for first grand master. Bill Walker came in and cleaned house in that age bracket. Tough runner. Randy didn't even know who his competition was until it was too late. RKBill was taking the day off from racing. He had run three races in a row, and he needed an excuse to take a break.
