THE BEACH

This movie is about a man in search for paradise. 
Richard travels halfway around the world to go to
Thailand. He discovers that Thailand is very much
different from the fast pace of his world in
AmericaWhile staying in a cheap, flea bag hotel, he
meets a man named Daffy. Daffy relays to him the story
of a hidden paradise island � crystal blue waters,
white sand, and away from civilization. This is what
Richard has been looking for. The next day, Daffy
commits suicide. Daffy leaves Richard a map to the
place he was talking about. He invites a young French
couple to join him and soon embark on an adventure to
the mysterious island. 
Richard believed that it was a dream come true to be
able to live in isolation. The colony believed the
same. But somehow, they realize that paradise is not
a place you can look for. Paradise is how you feel for
a moment in your life. 
The movie has a lot of nice insights on about living
your life and man�s quest for adventure. If you
haven�t watched it yet, I suggest you do. 
The movie is based on the book by Alexander Garland.
If you have time, I suggest you read the book also.
