| Students, Parents, and Families... Welcome to my website! I hope that this site helps you to find the information you need in order to take an active role in your education or the education of your child. As a Title I teacher, I work very closely with Mrs. Vuono, the classroom math teacher. Our goal is to create a positive environment that is conducive for all students. We encourage students to strive to their greatest potential and enjoy mathematics. Together we have created a wonderful curriculum to help them feel confident in their ability and are very excited about what each day brings! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. A good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort among parent, teacher, and child. | 6 Ways to Help Your Child with MATH: 1. SHOW your child how problem-solving math relates to everyday activities. Point out examples of how people use math everyday. Examples: cooking, shopping, the weather forecast, building things, ect... 2. HELP your child see math as a thinking process rather than a memorization process. Have them explain WHY. 3. ESTABLISH a regular study time and provide your child with a quiet space to study. 4. LOOK over graded assignments and tests and praise your child's efforts to learn. Be on the lookout for graded chapter packets and progress reports. 5. MAKE an enthusiastic effort to help your child with homework assignments. Show interest in his/her homework. 6. PRESENT A POSITIVE ATTITUDE ABOUT MATH!!!!! |
