| Grandma Morgan's Apple Crisp This recipe is definitely a family favorite. My grandmother, Nellie Morgan, shared it with my mom, Rae Jean Morgan, when my parents were married (1957). Mom passed it to me and I plan to pass it on to my daughter (Morgan Elizabeth) too. This is a feel good recipe. As it is cooking, the entire house takes on the wonderfully calming smell of apples and cinnemon. The time it takes for this recipe to cook adds to the anticipation. You will have your family/roommates lined up in the kitchen before your apple crisp is done just waiting for a bite! This dish is best served warm with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Yum! | Baked Italian Spaghetti This is one of my all time favorite recipes. It brings back wonderful memories of being in Girlscouts as a grade schooler. Every year, the Girlscouts sponsored a Father Daughter Banquet. Everyone was reqested to bring a food item to share, and I always asked Mom to make this dish. Dad, my sister Micki, and I would head out on those nights very proud of our contribution to the Banquet. Back to the recipe |
| Pop's Prime Rib This recipe has become our traditional Thanksgiving feast. The first time I was lucky enough to taste it was Bill's and my first Thanksgiving together in 1997. We drove home to Dubuque for the holiday and Bill's parents (along with Bill's aunts and uncles) had planned a big family get together with Prime Rib as the main course. That was a fun time with lots of fun memories. Ask Bill about his pumpkin pie phobia someday!! ;) Back to the recipe |
