Goblet of fire
Warner brothers, makers of the Harry Potter films, has decided to keep
Goblet of Fire as one film. Many people reckoned the hefty 636-page book would be split into two films, so Potter fans wouldn't be disappointed by losing their favourite scenes.
But sources say Steve Kloves, who adapted the first three books, has been asked to make a single two-and-a-half-hour film.
Warner Bros has also said it would like to keep the present cast. But Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are getting on a bit, making some people question if they will return for the fourth film.
The film-makers have said they will make a definite announcement about who will play Harry, Hermione and Ron soon.
Casting for Goblet of Fire does not begin until January 2004, and Prisoner of Azkaban will be released in June of that year.

OOTP Sold in 15 parts for Vietnam Kids
The Order of the Phoenix is being sold in 15 different parts in Vietnam so even the very poorest kids can afford to read it.
Many families would not be able to buy the massive book if it was sold as one novel.

Parts of the fifth Harry Potter book will be published every week and will cost kids about 30 cents a time.
'All my friends are keen'
OOTP has been flying off the shelves in Vietnam since it was released on 28 July. It took longer to be released there because it had to be translated into Vietnamese first.
And they love it: "I find it interesting because Harry has many characteristics of schoolboys like us," said Nguyen Vu Thang, 14. "All my friends are keen on Harry Potter."
Staff at the company which publishes Potter in Vietnam, The Tre Youth Publishing House, said they would be printing about 40,000 copies of OOTP - about 10,000 more than any of the earlier books.

The person who translated the Potter books into Vietnamese, Ly Lan, said it was a struggle to get them published there at first because foreign books don't usually sell well.

Set Report
Newsweek:
Yes, “Azkaban” is the puberty movie in the Potter franchise—the one, says
Emma Watson, who plays Hermione, in which “all those lovely, lovely hormones
start coming out.” How will the movie reflect the changes afoot? “Lots of
sex,” says Alfonso Cuaron, the Mexican director who’s taken over the reins
of the series from Chris Columbus. “Lots of nudity. And lots of sex.” Relax,
he’s joking. But Cuaron notes that his teenage cast is coming of age just as
the characters are, and that there’s, uh, pollen in the air. “You just have
to let it flow,” he says. “You don’t need to encourage it. You allow it to
be. And believe me, they have a lot of it.” Watson, who’s 13, has a sign on
her dressing-room door that reads BEWARE: BABE INSIDE.
“Azkaban” is a spookier story than the first two—the soul-sucking
dementors, who guard Azkaban Prison, make their first appearance—and
Cuaron’s design team promises that the movie’s palette will reflect the
gathering darkness. For Hogsmeade, set designer Stuart Craig labored to avoid a
“pretty, chocolate-box” village, creating a main street that swerves zanily.
Honeydukes, the candy store, is floor-to-ceiling psychedelia, with tangles of
licorice and—a Cuaron touch—Mexican skulls made of sugar. (To prevent candy
jars from magically emptying between takes, the cast has been told that the
goodies are lacquer-coated. They’re not.) Cuaron also reimagined the role of
Professor Dumbledore after Richard Harris’s death. British actor Michael
Gambon now plays the Hogwarts headmaster as an elegant old hippie.

Updated,
Hey sorry for not updating for couple weeks cos I was quite busy doing
the college tests and plus I didn't research for the newest Dan's news now
I've them some, eventhough I know it's a lil bit too late,
Kids rush to Potter-style lesson at school
Potter fans in the states are going back to school in their summer holidays to
learn like Harry. The Urban Academy Knowledge is set up just like Hogwarts.
Pupils even got to have lessons in potions, Herbiology, and Care of Magical
Creatures.
Kids were so keen to attend the Potter-style classes that both summer courses filled up on the very first day at the school in Wisconsin, USA.
Students get sent an invitation to attend the school, just like the letter Harry receives asking him to go to Hogwarts.
The school also:
Sorts children into four houses on their first day using a special hat
Rewards kids by giving them 'points' for their house
Gives kids a secret password to enter the classrooms
Teaches them a Quidditch-style game - a mix of baseball, basketball and paper planes
The school is lead by a former teacher in Wisconsin, Kristin Urban, who's a huge Harry Potter fan.
She even gets the kids to study ideas and issues raised in the boy wizard books.
"The kids are fascinated with the idea of magic," she said.

Hogwart's house would you like want to be in? Vote NOW!
Harry Gets gross new look
Here's Harry as you've never seen him before!
Perched on the loo and waving a sink plunger in the air, this is Harry Potty.
The spoof version of the boy wizard is part of a set of collectable cards inspired by gross humour.
Joining Harry Potty in the set is Metallic Alec, who's got so many piercings that he's pulled out of his shoes by a magnet.
Cards craze
Harry, Alec and loads of other yucky characters have been created in a bid to bring back an old cards craze.
In the 1980s, the Garbage Pail Kids cards were popular with school kids.
The new generation of Garbage Pail Kids are coming out in America in August
Potter film extras lose wages to school
Kids who worked as extras on the new Harry Potter film have had to give some of their wages to their school.
Fourteen pupils from Lochaber High in Fort William, Scotland, appeared in background scenes in The Prisoner Of Azkaban.
They were paid for their acting, but they've had to give up their wages earned on school days.
Their headteacher said that, as the filming was done in school time, it counted as work experience.
The school received a £1,370 donation from film-makers Warner Bros for the pupils' efforts.
The kids were allowed to keep the cash they earned at weekends. "Different policies"
However, extras from another school in the area were allowed to keep their weekday earnings too.
The local council said that the schools had "different policies".
"Lochaber have dealt with Warner Bros a lot and have developed a policy where they make a donation to the school fund," the council spokesman added.
Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban will see Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson returning to their roles as Harry, Ron and Hermione.
It will be the third film about the boy wizard.

The team behind the Harry Potter movies have been
giving us a few bits of extra information about films three, four and even five!
At Tuesday night's Chamber of Secrets DVD launch,
producer David Heyman revealed more casting for The Prisoner of Azkaban. British
actress Julie Christie will play Three Broomsticks barmaid Madam Rosmerta. And
comedienne Dawn French, last seen in the Comic Relief Potter spoof, will now
play the Fat Lady.
Will Cho Chang be in it?
Professor Trelawney will be in the film, but hasn't been cast yet. But
they're still not sure if Cho Chang will appear or not. Filming
started six weeks ago, and it all seems to be going well. Before
Tuesday's launch Heyman says they finished a scene in the Gryffindor Common Room
where Professor McGonagall is furious after Neville has left the password list
lying aorund, as well as some of the Boggart scene. Robbie
Coltrane said he's looking forward to starting his scenes as Hagrid.
"Hagrid has a new look," he says. "He's got a waistcoat. His
clothes are looking more like he made them himself, which indeed I'm sure he
did.
"Work is even starting on the fourth film. Screenwriter Steve Kloves
started on the script for Goblet of Fire last week.
"The approach is that he's going to write the script as though it's one
film," says Heyman. "And hopefully he'll be able to do that.
"When he gets to the end we'll make an assessment about whether that's the
right thing to do or not. The goal is to try, if not we'll split it in two, but
at the moment we're trying to do it in one. "We
will start pre-production towards the end of the year, and start sometime next
year. And [it'll] come out a year, year and a half after the third film."
There's been lots of speculation about whether Dan, Emma
and Rupert will return for the fourth movie.
The return of Chris Columbus
"My hope would be that it'll be the same cast, it's too early to tell
though." is Heyman's comment. "We've only just started writing the
screenplay. It's early days yet."There have also been rumours that Chris
Columbus who directed the first two films, but isn't directing the third, will
return to direct the fourth. "Maybe Film
Five," says Columbus. "Four is starting a little too quickly, but Five
is a possibility."
The young stars of Harry Potter were out in
full force for the launch of the Chamber of Secrets DVD at Leavesden Studios.
Rupert Grint couldn't be happier. No, not
because it's finally dawned on him that he's one of the Big Three actors in one
of the most successful films of all time. Or
because he's got an army of girl fans following his every move. But
because, simply, he doesn't have to go to school. Fair
enough. The Ron Weasley actor is back on the set
of Harry Potter 3, where he belongs. "I'm
having so much fun," he told Newsround. "Filming is sooo much better
than school, it's so good to get back to it.
'Suck up'
"We've been doing it for six weeks now and we're having such a laugh.
It's weird - me, Daniel and Emma get on really, really well now. They're
cool."I had to go back to school for a bit. My friends were great - it's
the teachers who are the problem. They suck up a bit. I'm sorry!"
Rupert may be in the thick of filming the Prisoner of
Azkaban right now, but that doesn't give him any privileges with a certain JK
Rowling. He said he "couldn't wait" for book five, but he'd have to go
out and buy it like the rest of us. No sneak
previews for the stars then!
'Little brat'
Rupert's on-screen brothers, Chris Rankin (Percy) and Oliver and James
Phelps (the twins), were almost as happy to be back filming. But they
were quick to put young Rupert in his place. "Rupert's
a little brat!" Chris joked. "Filming's awful 'cos he's such a
horrible child. Only joking Rupert!" The
twins added: "Being on set is just like going back to school. Everyone's
like, 'hi, did you have a nice summer?' It's such a laugh."
Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, said she was
ecstatic to be back on the set of Potter 3, even though filming is pretty time
consuming. "It does take up a lot of your
life," she told Newsround. "But it's worth it. It's a fantastic
experience. "I completely understand that
I've been handed this on a silver plate. But it's really cool."
Disguise
All of the young cast have had to cope with massive attention since the
Philosopher's Stone came out in 2001. And some cope with it differently to
others. Sean Biggerstaff, who plays Quidditch
heartthrob Oliver Wood, reckons he has a sneaky way of hiding from fans. He
told Newsround: "I avoid it by going out in disguise. I wear a beard and
long hair, so it's not a problem for me!" But
Sean's cool about not being not being in Potter 3, even though his dedicated
fans started a petition to keep him in it. "It's
a huge book, something has to go. It's fair enough. I wish them all well, but I
might be back!" he said.
Hints about book five
One person who's definitely back for more is his mate, Tom Felton, who plays
the malicious Malfoy. Tom said filming was going
well, but he's got no idea about his future in the movies. "I've
heard I might die in book five," he gulped. "But there's rumours that
everyone's going to die. It will be the end!" One
of Malfoy's many enemies is Hagrid, who's also one of the people rumoured for
the chop in the long-awaited Order of the Phoenix. But
actor Robbie Coltrane, who plays him, was cagey. "There's
rumours that I know what's going to happen in book five," he told Newsround.
"I'm glad I don't! "Yes, she (JK Rowling)
has given me hints. But if I told you about them you'd have to die!" he
joked. Guess we'll just have to wait then.
