His side job(s):
Did an ad for UK Comic Relief's Harry Potter schoolbooks. Starred in the West End smash, 'The Play What I Wrote', a tribute to Morecambe and Wise, written and directed by Kenneth
Branagh, who also appears in the latest Potter epic. His role is Harry Daughter. See
when Dan became Harry's daughter!
Showbiz CV: Daniel says he caught the acting bug when he was five years old.
His first appearance on the small screen was in December 1999 in BBC's David Copperfield as the young boy (in which his Potter partners Maggie Smith and Zoe Wannamaker also starred.)
Next step was the big screen starring with Hollywood actress Jamie Lee Curtis in The Tailor of Panama.
His audition for the Harry Potter films was almost like magic itself. The film's director Chris Columbus says: 'Dan walked into the room and we all knew we had found Harry.'
Potty about: Dan is a cheeky prank-player. While filming on set, Dan pinched co-star Robbie Coltrane's mobile phone and changed it so all the messages were in Turkish! Dan also loves PlayStation and football - he supports Fulham Football Club.
Movie magic: Surprisingly, brave Dan did many of the film stunts himself. His favourite was during a game of Quidditch.
He says: "There was one shot where I was hanging one-handed from my broomstick, 22 feet in the air. I was wired up to the broom, with a huge airbag underneath me, and they moved me around up there. That was pretty cool."
If he really had magic powers he would... "make myself invisible. Then I could sneak into top-secret meetings and stuff," he says.
