COMPANII PIONIERI (Cp.Pi.).
The Sappers Companies.
In 1941 a Companie Pionieri was mobilised for each Infantry, Frontier-Guards and Fortification Infantry Regiment. These companies were organic subunits, therefore they are not listed below.
In October 1944, due to the heavy losses during April-August 1944, the surviving divisional Batalioane Pionieri were reduced to 13 Companii Pionieri, for each Infantry or Mountain Division, which continued the action against the Germans and Hungarians.
