Cycle 15
Katie was trying to be strong as Adam left, but tears came out like there was no end. Nick tried to calm her down, and he succeeded....after about an hour. They both started talking. (For ease, Katie's comments will be in red, and Nick's will be in orange)
hey, its alright, i understand
ok good ;), I'm glad you do
yeah i would do the same if i was in ur shoes, but i figured id atleast try
yeah it was worth a try, and it made me think for a minute. Anyway...congrats on final 2!
u too
thanks. it'll be interesting
yeah no kidding
I bet you'll win
ive never been in a game before, im surprised at myself. Why do you think I'll win?
I dunno, just have a feeling
lol
you'll probably win the jury, and there's still going to be a nother challenge and you probably have more points than me now
theres gonna be another challenge?
in the first one, there was a big challenge, jury votes and I think a popularity poll
yeah but what would the challenge do if its a popularity vote?
well it's a combination of 3
oooo ok. i see now
like the jury vote counts for some, the poll, the challenge, etc. yeah
yeah. this'll be interesting
yeah, but zach may change it, who knows
yeah
They both went to bed that night worrying about the next day. The next day, Katie and Nick ate their breakfast silently as they waited to see what would happen next. Nick finally broke the silence, and asked Katie a question, but she didn't respond. She seemed in very deep thought. Over the intercom, they were told to go to the main living room for a surprise. They both walked there and saw the other 14 contestents. They were seated far across the room from Nick and Katie. Each contestent was told to give a question to Katie and Nick, and they would answer it. Though, not each person had to ask a question. Travis V. went first.
From Travis V
Which one of you likes Spagetti more and why?
Nick's answer: I am a big spaghetti fan, it's one of my favorite foods, so probably me. lol
Katie's Answer: I would have to say that I like spaghetti more, because it is very delicious. I would say that I eat it about once a week, and I love it.
From Sam
How much time have you invested in this game? Does the time you spent reflect on how well you did?
Nick's Answer: In answer to your first question, I did spend a good amount of time on this game (not hours on end, mind you), but I spent time almost every day doing the challenge, and I do think it accurately reflects making it in this far.
Katie's Answer: Its hard to tell how much time I've spent on this game, but I guess if you added it all up and counted the time spent trying to make words out of the words Rocky Mountains, then I would probably say about 20 hours. I think it probably does, except on some of the challenges when I was going for speed points and should have re-checked my answers.
From Josh
Congratulations to you both, Nick and Katie. In my final thoughts I said that I had only saw one person that deserved the championship, and to be frank, neither of you qualified. But as some say, Shit Happens. It's still all good. But owing to that outcome you will have to answer my 5 questions (yes 5 questions, it's only a few minutes of your life) intelligently. They are listed below.
1) How did you make it to the final two? (Did somebody carry you through the game? Did you do everything yourself? Etc.)
NIck's Answer: I made it to the final 2, but doing every challenge, and hoping I did them well. I pretty much worked by myself from episode 5 when Eviana left on. Before that, she and I worked together on some of the team challenges.
Katie's Prelude: Ya know what? I hate to sound like a jerk, but this is just like the Survivor on TV, where there is always one person who rubs everyone the wrong way. Just says stupid stuff, and I would have to say that Josh you're that person. I know I didn't really get to know you, but the way you said "In my final thoughts I said that I had only saw one person that deserved the championship, and to be frank, neither of you qualified. But as some say, Shit Happens." Just makes me think. Ok so down to the questions.
Katie's Answer: 1.In the beginning of this game, Adam carried me for a short time, and then I got into the game and used hard work, and also teamwork. I couldn't have gotten this far without a great team and determination.
2) If you could replace your seat in the final two with anybody that has been voted out... who would it be?
Nick's Answer: I believe I would switch with Adam, since he was one of only a couple people I got to know in this game, and I believe he played just as hard, if not harder, than most everyone else in this game.
Katie's ANswer: Adam. He is my team and my friend. I think he really deserves to be in the final
3) Why do you deserve to win the game?
Nick's ANswer: The reason I feel I deserve to win this game is because I have been resilient in a number throughout the game. For example, in cycle 8, I got pounded in that dart IC, I fell 5 rankings, and I was on the brink of danger zone for then and for the next 4 episodes. However, I barely hung on all the way until the end.
Katie's Answer: 3.Hmm, I guess because I tried my best and wouldn't give up.
4) Why does the other person in the final two, not deserve to win the game?
Nick's Answer: The reason Katie would not deserve to win, is because, until the final 3 (when she wanted me to sacrifice myself), she never tried to contact me (and I'm assuming others).
Katie's Answer: 4. I think Nick fully deserves to win the game. We both do. He has tried as hard and really pulled through in the end, I really admire how he came back in the end. He deserves to win as much as I do if not more.
5) And Finally, Do you have any regrets in this game? What are they? and if you don't, tell me why.
Nick's Answer: I know this will sound cheesy and suck-upy, but it's 100% true. My lone regret is that I wished I had the chance to meet more players. During the game I only met a handful of people (Eviana, Sean, Sam, Katie, Adam, and Robb (I knew him previously, I didn't talk to him during the game)) and I wanted the opprotunity to meet more of you, and I still do you, so if you want to say hi, my AIM is mathboy999 and my MSN is [email protected]
Katie's Answer: 5.I have two regrets. My first one fixed itself, but in the beginning I was a real jerk to Adam, but that all sorted out, lol. My second regret was not getting to know all of you. There were 16 people and I only know about 5 of you. I wish I could have talked to everyone before they got voted out.
You getting my vote depends on how you answer my questions. Once again I would like to congratulate you both. Be sure that you read cycle 15, because I am asking the host if for my final good-bye I can say who I thought deserved to win before I wrote these questions. Good Luck
From Josh B.
How badly do you want to win?
Nick's Answer: I'd of course love to win, and I will try my hardest in the final challenge. However, I'm not going to kill myself trying to win. If I do not win, I will of course be dissapointed, but I will congratulate Katie, and feel good for her. I hope I answered your question, Josh.
Katie's Answer: I want to win so badly, I will go into depression if I do not win. No, ok just kidding. I want to win; I think that would be really awesome. I have tried really hard and surprised at myself that I've gotten this far. So I want to win pretty bad, but its not gonna be the end of the world if I don't.
From Adam
Why should the other person not win?
NIcks' Answer: Like I said in Josh's question, Katie didn't really try to contact me, and I'm assuming the others, until the final 3, when she wanted me for something.
Katie's Answer: Like in Josh's question, I think that Nick and I both are equally matched. But I guess If I had to answer this, erm, I would probably say that he shouldn't win because he has been in so many other online games but I cant really say that he doesn't deserve to win.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nick's Ending statement: Well, I had a fun time playing in this game, and I'm thrilled to be here and glad to be here with Katie, and looking forward to the home stretch!
Nick seemed pretty confident with his answers, but Katie wasn't so sure. Once again, that night, Nick tried to talk to Katie but she was again deep in thought. After a fitful night of sleeping and a bland breakfast, Nick and Katie walked to the main living room again. They were told to do 10 challenges. They were each told to design a flag, and both of them did. You can view them here
Score: nick leads 163-116
Next, Nick and Katie had to do Lingo. Katie fared better than Nick.
The score is 163-166
The 3rd challenge was having to make up words from the word TEAMWORK. Nick did better.
213-166
Now it was time for a funny mad lib challenge. Katie's was: One day while I was rocking to and fro in the padded room a hyperactive wombat fell through the roof. It immediately jumped on the swing set and knocked over the slide. Then it ran out the door into the basement and flung a roll of toilet paper off the pool table. It then knocked a glass of liquid nitrogen off the coffee table. After 12.825 minutes of chasing the wombat through the house I finally caught it and put it outside. It quickly climbed the nearest giant calculator.
Nick's was: One day while I was panting in the bathroom a slimy mouse fell through the roof. It immediately jumped on the toilet and knocked over the air freshner. Then it ran out the door into the kitchen and squeezed a blade off the blender. It then knocked a glass of urine off the coffee table. After 20254864.58486435 minutes of chasing the mouse through the house I finally caught it and put it outside. It quickly climbed the nearest lightning rod.
Katie's was funnier. Score: 213-216
The Questions challenge. Nick got 5/5 right, while Katie got 4/5 right.
score is 263-216
Next, they each had to come up with a funny essay. Nicks: 16 strangers arrived in an old mansion in Colorado. As they entered, they found a mad scientist named Zach. Zach was experimenting to switch the brains of humans and rats. Zach decided to test from smallest brain to largest, so CJ went first. His brain made the rat dumber! However, CJ was unable to function with a rat's brain and he died. Next, Zach experimented on 5 more people. Like CJ, the rat was smarter than the humans, but each human got progressively smarter. The next person, Sam, survived since he had the same brain as a rat! The next 9 people were each slightly smarter than the rat. Only the two biggest brains remained, Katie and Nick. He wanted to reward the smartest one with safety, so it was up to Katie and Nick to do 10 challenges to see who would survive
Katie's:Well, the reason I have gotten this far is that, there is no game. The Matrix has you all. I am a sentient program, and I can change anything I want. You see, I was really supposed to be voted out cycle 2, but I rewrote the code so I would make it this far. Unfortunately, I cannot re-write the results because I would need the Oracle to predict the future, and you see, she really doesn't like me for trying to kill Neo. So all of you are slaves to the machines, born into a prison you can't taste, smell, or feel. A prison for your mind. So think hard about who is going to win, my little batteries. Thinking makes more energy for the machines. *evil laugh*
Nick did better with his rats. Score: 313-216
Next, the fallen comrades challenge. Katie did better than Nick
313-266
#8, the counting challenge, Katie could be observed as being able to count. Not that you couldn't Nick, I saw where you made your mistake
Score: 313-316
Second to lastly, both got the Tribe Has Spoken
363-366
Lastly, Both of them got the thing with As little words as possible, starting with Katie, ending with Nick.
413-416
Next, a popularity poll was taken from all over the internet. The REsults: Nick with 57% of votes and Katie with 43%. Nick will recieve 28 points
441-416
The last leg of the journey. Voting from the jury. The jurors were to tell their vote to the camera, and their reason for voting. They were told that they didn't have to vote if they didn't want too. Eviana, Travis, and Bob said they did not want too. Their reason for voting would be told, but not who it was.
First pulled out: i vote for katie to win. i think she had the right amount of interest in the game, and didn't go all out, back-stabbing anyone who she wanted to
Katie leads: 441-466
2nd vote: Nick, I am voting for you to win and I hope you do. You played your heart out, you used your brain, and also you didn't diss me in my final questions (just kidding katie I love you), But still Nick I do hope you win, katie it was actually you that persuaded me to vote this way, at least I think, you told me that Nick did deserve to win the game, so I'm taking your advice (btw... IT'S NOT MY FAULT I WATCH SURVIVOR A LOT, OK! lol). Good Luck Nick.
Nick leads: 491-466
3rd vote: ok i vote for Katie
Katie leads: 491-516
4th vote: I vote for Katie. She was a great friend, and a great team member. She worked very hard, and definitly deserves to win. Good luck Katie :).
Katie leads: 491-566
5th Vote: I would like to vote for Nick...sorry but this took me a really long time to decide which one, but i think Nick should win especially since he was his only team member! so Nick would have to be my final answer
Katie leads: 541-566
6th Vote: I vote for Nick. i relly liked the answers to his questions and it's kinda weird how i just relized that that was nick
Nick Leads: 591-566
