lining up for kerosen distribution

Some  familiar scenes:  weekly food distribution. Each refugees, regardless of age, receives a ration of rice, noodles, mung beans, sugar, tea, two cans of meat or fish etc. Cooking oil and kerosene are also distributed.

A small shrine established to commemorate three young girls who were gang  raped by Thai pirates at sea on their tragic journey. Unable to withstand the disrespect treatment by their compatriots in the camp, they committed suicide.

Their death woke the camp conscience and this place later became a legendary worshipping place. People would come to pay their respect before leaving the camp .
