I have been doing a little fiddling with the site, but haven't gotten anything to the point where I am happy enough to change it permanently just yet. I have been taking some pictures of the "foundry" setup (it seems kind of small to warrent a big sounding word like foundry) and will hopefully post them soon, in a new section of the projects page. Also, I hope to take the message board out behind the shed and hit it with a shovel.

Today I hit the four month mark since the last day I posted. I imagine that whatever fan base I aquired has withered and died. Fortunately all three of you are on my email list, and I can tell you all about it.
Two things happened today that have rekindled my interest in this beast. First, I have just today gotten a Google Mail account. I was quite exited to find out about this new service that google offers, and myself and a coworker were discussing how cool it was that he had discovered this "secret" free email system. That lasted untill I was kindly informed by a two of the four people that I live with, that I was in fact the last person on the planet to be informed, and all the rest either had an account already, or at least knew all about it. Damn! I almost saw the band wagon that time.
The second thing, was that I have been making some progress on a project of mine, and wanted to share.
I have been trying to make myself a hood ornament. Cast from aluminum.
Today, I made my first real attempt to melt some aluminum in a furnace that I built. Good news, the pop cans I was attempting to melt actually melted. Bad news, the side of the soup can I used as a crucible burst a side and dripped molten aluminum all over the inside of the furnace, and onto the peice of plywood I was working over(pictures at a later date). Tomorrow I will try again.
Since I really have no projects on the go that have captured my attention of late, I have decided that perhaps I ought to come up with something new to work on.
Something that burns, explodes, pops or throws something else around is always an option, but still, the idea of making a hood ornament for my car keeps running through my head, a small table out of that peice of burl, a handle for a blade I have hanging around, or to finally realize the dream of the Glitterbomb... Augh! I cannot decide.
What I would like, is to aquire a camera, and take some pictures of the odd things that I see around the campus. There is a posable skeleton in one of the science classrooms that (if you can keep his arm from falling off) can provide much needed amusement to a security guard down on his luck.
Signing off for now. Shut-eye is calling.

So, I have been working as security at Malaspina, the local university. Patrolling. Endlessly patrolling. The campus covers something like two square kilometers up the side of a cliff. There are stories about someone who tripped at the higher end of campus, and managed to hit all twelve thousand steps on the way down. I think there is still a memorial around somewhere.
Some of the more interesting points of the campus include the sturgeon (they breed them), Prothso George, a good yet creepy looking dental learing aide, the gym, where the local homeless sometimes come to bathe, and the vending machine vandal who I am convinced stole nearly twenty granola bars on his last heist.
Since the last update:
Weddings: 2
kilometers flown: 10,000
kilometers driven: 1,000
kilometers walked: 2. Repeated ad nauseam.
hammock chairs hung: 1
Showering bums watched: 1
I don't really have the time or the inclination to go into details today, but some of the things which will likely be explored are; succotash, ambulation, british people and the things they say, some things that I have read and my spiffy new shoes.
Signing off for now,
G
I have decided that all older posts will be thrown into The Archive, so that I can keep this front page shorter.
There. Finished off the old file yesterday, and now I have all the pictures and whatnot posted. Go see.
I am trying to get a message board up and going.
There, now it works. (it was actually easy) I just wanted to see if I could make my own. I likely could, but geocities won't let me use it. Meaning I am stuck with using their crappy message board system. Still, it's something.
It would seem that Cherelynn has been a very bad girl. I just recently caught wind that she has been running a bit of a smuggling operation right out of our house. I have some photographic evidence I might have to submit to the local authorities.

This is a rare specimen. The inflatable palm monkey, Inflatinii Balloonius, a nearly extinct species from Africa. I can't believe she would do such a thing.
Who am I kidding. That thing is cute. I'd likely keep it myself.
P.S. The projects section should work now.
I have just got the section of the little head carvings up and running, and have put back the counter (dad). I'm still trying to figure out the layout of the projects, so just keep waiting on that one. Someday, I promise.
A few days ago, I got the chance to sit in a hummer2. They had left it unlocked in one of the service departments of a dealership I patrol. I hop in, expecting to be blown out of the water by the machine that can manage to haul senator Schwarzanegger around. It was... smaller inside than it looked. Any minivan has more room inside. It would seem that a vehicle that bulky is mostly made up of... bulk. Oh and the shifter was wobbly.
On the brighter side, it's warm now, and I have been wearing shorts for a couple of days.
There are a couple more Words Of The WheneverIbothertoupdate, and.. nothing else really.
I have made the projects menu page, but as yet everything is dead. No links to pretty pictures, and that is likely as far as it will go today. Sorry, to all those who have been sitting at their computers hitting refresh for the past six hours waiting for this update. Maybe tomorrow.
Changed the menu a little, and thinking about changing the background color a bit. I think Cherelynn thinks I need to get a little more sun, and stop working on this thing for awhile. I don't see why, it's only been five days or so. Besides, I'm just starting to get this thing to where I like it.
I will be working on the projects page later today, maybe. Work is so inconvenient. As if people steal cars anyways. Right.
Getting a little frustrated with having to pick colors that go well together. Sounds simple. But it isn't. I have been at this, on and off all day. Still I am not satestfied. Plus, the colors need to be changed on the divider bar, and matt is using his computer. Dammit.
The Projects page is of yet still fantasy, but the others are up and running. Other than the new layout though, nothing has really changed.
The first real text entry. This is the new layout of the page. So far so good. It has taken me around three days and two rather different attempts to get it to this stage. I hope it goes well.
