We would get up early. Like I said, I was up to see the sunrise everyday. We would enjoy some coffee on the veranda before heading to breakfast.
As you can see, we were not alone... there was plenty of wildlife around to keep us company.
This was the view from the dining room at the Beachcomber Parkroyal. Dan took this picture at breakfast on first morning in Moorea. It was at this point we decided to have our parents sell all of our belongings and stay in paradise.
We went snorkling on our first full day in Moorea. The hotel was kind enough to take us by outrigger canoe to a "motu" just off the coast. In the background you can see Moorea. The water is crystal clear. So clear, that Dan forgot it was salt water.Tip: dont swallow salt water. This lagoon is filled with coral growths and plenty of colorful fish.
It was here that Nancy suffered the only injury of the trip. She brushed her knee aginst a coral outcropping and scrapped her knee up pretty good. The locals believe that Lime Juice is nature's antiseptic. THere was a man making lunch on the motu and happened to have a lime and he offered it up to us. Boy did it sting!
