Caleb Andrew Ryan was four years old and Breana Renee Ryan was two years old at the time of their daddy's death. Caleb understands that daddy is not coming back, but I don't think he fully understands why. Breana keeps saying "lets go get daddy at work". One night the three of us were driving home and I said "remember when daddy used to say who's the best daddy in the world?" Caleb then said "yes I remember. Are you going to be the best mommy in the world?" Of course I said yes and looked back at him and he just started crying really hard. Damon and Caleb were very close. Damon was proud of his son. They used to wrestle around and Damon was always tickling him. Damon would let him stay up late with him after I went to bed so, Caleb thought he was the coolest daddy. Damon and Breana were close too and I know they would've become even closer as she got older. He always said that she was his little princess. Our kids miss him so much, I feel so bad that they are so young and confused. Damon always strived to be a good dad and he was. I feel so sad for Damon knowing that the kids will soon come to forget him because they are so young. All I can do is try to keep reminding them of memories that their daddy left behind for them. They are such good kids and I am so thankful that Damon gave them to me.
