Meditation is stressed. Here anapana-sati, mindfulness of breathing, is practiced with the Abbot supplying additional techniques as needed. There is a large open meditation hall and two smaller halls within the wat. Outside of festival days, visitors can be certain of finding a quiet place to practice meditation. There are not regular classes in meditation, but the Abbot is very open for questions. A translator is not always available. For those wishing to walk in the forest, there is a clearly marked path up
a nearby hill. The path is mostly in the shade and leads up through lush forest
to a waterfall that is active in the rainy season. These books are a good starting place to learn more about meditation:
