Saddam Hussein puts down Deposit for Apartment in Ramallah
April 24 -- In a show of solidarity with the Palestinian people, Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein has decided to rent an apartment in the war-torn city of Ramallah. "We are happy to have a new tenant," said Amir Zackrias, the owner of Ramallah Isles apartment complex. "We've had a lot of vacancies the past few weeks -- dead people can't afford rent. "Also, the Israeli soldiers have moved in to stay -- and they refuse to pay." According to an Iraqi press release, Hussein does not plan on moving into the apartment anytime soon. "Saddam knows his days are numbered," stated an unidentified U.S. Justice Department official. "When the mighty hand of America crushes Baghdad like a grape, Saddam will run to Ramallah. He'll hang out with Yassir [Arafat].
"Maybe then we'll be able to get Arafat. We'd be killing two birds with one stone, so to speak." Amir Zackrias didn't seem concerned with current politics. "Hey," he said, "as long as I can live to see tomorrow -- I'm happy."
