Matters by M.D.
At what point are we going to actually focus on the most threatening states that support or are victims of terrorism in this war? Where the hell is Colin Powell? I think he showed up in Moroco and asked where Prime Minister Sharon was. I didn't know it took a week to get to Isreal. Who is his booking agent? I sure hope he had a swell time chatting it up, and eating the many fine delicacies of the countries he's visited. I understand the need to build consensus...but to do it in the midst of a crisis, and to come off like its not a big deal is really...well...stupid. Also, why are we running around playing war games with third
world countries that only have third rate terrorist factions that only number in
the hundreds, or maybe thousands (Phillipines, Georgia), when we have a full
blown crisis boiling over in several countries in our own backyard -- namely,
Venezuela, Colombia, and Peru? If we only take one step at a time, the worlds "evil doers" will stay one step ahead of us. We need to raise awareness that not all terrorists wear towels on their heads and live 5,000 miles away...many of them, who are more ruthless, only live 1,000 miles away, and are of the same religion. Spread the word.
