Lucas is a genius
by Snapshot Joe
Episode 2 has finally arrived in the movie theaters, and once again George Lucas has PROVEN that he is a genius.
That's right: Father Lucas has delivered a powerful message, and we in the audience can't wait for more.
First of all, the special effects are awesome! From Coruscant (which makes Tokyo look like a tiny shack town) to the scary ocean of Kimino, this movie had some great visuals!
And let's not forget that cool-sounding concussion bomb during
the asteroid belt scene! Those gave me chills!
And boy, those three beasts during the gladiator scene were also scary! Lucas paid GREAT homage to the monster movies from the 1950's.
Second, Ewan McGregor proves why he is one of the greatest actors of all time with his dead-on Obi-Wan
Kenobi/Alec Guiness impersonation. It sure is tough managing that young kid, isn't it Obi-Wan?
Third, Count Dooku is one of the best villains we've seen in the Star Wars Universe since you-know-who (breathe heavily, and you'll get the idea). "You disappoint me, Obi-Wan -- Master Yoda spoke so highly of you." Thank you, Dooku, for the great quotes!
There's NOTHING like a bad guy with a British accent.
Fourth, it doesn't GET any better than Padme Amidala -- she is the hottest woman in movies today.
Fifth, Yoda PROVES why he is the ULTIMATE JEDI MASTER -- in every way, shape and form.
Last, and certainly not least -- Hayden Cristiansen is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT as Anakin Skywalker. He brings angst, conflict, frustration, and
stubbornness to the screen better than any actor ever. The scenes on Tattooine HAVE to go down as some of the most emotionally moving in the history of film-making. "They're animals! I hate them!" We believe you kid, and we feel your pain.
